Lindenwood Park, Fargo, North Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient location near I-94. We had some problems with squatters/homeless people hanging out in the empty spot next to ours. The park employees kicked them out at 8:00 PM after letting them be there all afternoon and evening - awkward.

If you can get a spot near the river, it's a pretty view. The upper campground is much more cramped and is closer to the road so there's more noise. We camped at Lindenwood Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This would be an inexpensive place to stay during the Red River Valley Fair or Downtown Fargo Street Fair - two big summer community events that are family-friendly.

Red River State Recreation Campground, East Grand Forks, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

It's the newest and best State Park campground in Minnesota, with amenities more like a private campground. We love the pull-through sites and onsite sewer hookups, pluse water and electricity. The bathrooms are clean and new. However, the toilets and showers are in separate buildings, which is a bit weird. We camped at Red River State Recreation Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a Cabella's sporting goods store very close to the park, in case you forget something. There's also a movie theater, downtown shopping district, and several restaurants within easy walking distance. Great park with a great location!

Crow Wing Lake Campground, Brainerd, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

I love the onsite dog park with agility equipment. We also enjoyed renting a pontoon while we there. The office has a lot of rental equipment available, as well as a small store - very convenient. It looked like families were having a blast in the heated swimming pool - great perk for a MN campground to include!

The majority of the spaces in this campground are rented seasonally, so it's best to call far ahead of your desired dates to reserve one of the few available spots. We camped at Crow Wing Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you don't have kids, I would request a spot away from the basketball courts because it can get quite loud with several children playing.
