Charles Waters Campground, Stevensville, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $6.00
Overall Rating:

This is our local "go to" campground. Quiet, beautiful, well maintained. Some sites are along Bass Creek. Great hiking trails. Address is actually Florence, MT, off Hwy 93 at the end of Bass Creek Rd. between Stevensville and Florence. Some pull thrus. Recommend that anything over 36 feet NOT go down the right (west) loop due to a tree that hinders maneuverability to swing the loop. Have seen some rigs bigger than our 36 footer get in big trouble here. Dump stations available about 25 miles in either direction, north in Missoula or south in Hamilton. We camped at Charles Waters Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Gilgal Oasis RV Park, Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

The biggest thing we look for in a campground is QUIET. This is not usually the kind of park I seek out. I prefer something a little more "outdoorsy", not so close to neighbors. But with last minute reservations, this looked like the best option for what was available. It was a great experience. The owner and hosts (and other campers) were great. Very helpful on the "where to go" front. They helped me back our 36 ft fifth wheel in to the tight space with no problem. Wi-Fi and services were nice. Oh, and did I mention quiet? The only noisy night was when SEA-TAC's flight pattern was overhead--and it ended at 10:30. We camped at Gilgal Oasis RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground, Kalispell, Montana

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

4 night stay, nice QUIET park-no traffic or trains! Convenient to Kalispell, Whitefish, Colombia Falls (I was here for softball games). Also good place to stay for Glacier National Park. Sites are pretty close in the new section. My only issue was that we ended up in a new part without a fire ring (but didn't notice til we were all set up). Also, there are permanent residences here, also, in another section. We were close to that section and the problem was that one of the residents left the house and a dog inside the home started barking. We left, came back 5 hours later--still barking. Left a voicemail for the manager (7:00 p.m.) and it wasn't long before he came around. Glad he was on top of things! We camped at Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wahweap RV and Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This was our 2nd stay at this park, just overnighters both times. But it seems there is a lot to do here. and might be nice to spend a few days. managed by Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas, everything is a little pricier than your average campground, but also nicer. I was disappointed that there was an additional fee ($2.00) to use the showers (as we were already winterized). The sites are very nice, fairly level cement slabs, gorgeous view of Lake Powell, and spaced with a little breathing room between neighbors. Each has a fire ring, table, and many have grills. Bathrooms with flush toilets. Interesting, you enter the park from Arizona, loop thru Utah, then back into Arizona. Very close to Glen Canyon Dam, slot canyons, and hiking. Boating and fishing. The registration center is also a nice gift shop.VERY QUIET park at night. No road noise or trains. We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Golden Spike RV Park, Brigham City, Utah

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

It is a nice little park. Nice sites, all pull-through, fairly level, gravel or cement. With our 36' 5th wheel, had no issues pulling in, staying hitched, in the north row. Older park, but clean and well kept. Good Wi-Fi. The staff, very friendly and helpful (to a degree).

Here's where we had trouble. I had called to ask about highway and train noise. I asked again, of another employee, before checking in. Well, I guess they are just used to it. If you are sensitive to noise at all, I don't recommend this park. I believe there must be a competition to see whose truck can have the loudest pipes or what engineer can blow his whistle the most. I liked the park, just not the noise. We camped at Golden Spike RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
