Checotah / Lake Eufaula West KOA, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

I'd stay here again. We were only here one night as we traveled home, but it was pleasant enough to deserve a good review. It's an older park but well maintained with long and wide sites. We asked for and received a treeless site so our satellite worked perfectly (a must have when we travel). WiFi a tad slow but it's free, so no complaints. The on-site cafe was handy as we were hungry after a long drive and it saved us from unhooking the toad and looking for a restaurant (or worse, cooking). Food won't win awards but it hit the spot. Whatever pothole issues which existed in prior reviews have been fixed and the access road is smooth. Staff was very pleasant, always welcome after a long day of driving. You won't go wrong. We camped at Checotah / Lake Eufaula West KOA in a Motorhome.

Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA, Durant, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful park! Not much to add to what's already been said, other than for the price this is the definition of a bargain. The clubhouse is stunning, the grounds impeccable. We were just passing through and stayed the one night, but this campground deserves a special trip. We'll be back. We camped at Durant / Choctaw Casino KOA in a Motorhome.

The Vineyard at Fredericksburg RV Park (formerly Quiet Creek RV Resort, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here during Memorial weekend and would not hesitate to come back. Very nice park and easy to navigate. What I did not like is that they use something called RoverPass to make online reservations. I didn't realize at the time that I would be charged $30 for this "service." Felt that was a ripoff. Parks should pay for this, not the consumer. We camped at The Vineyard at Fredericksburg RV Park (formerly Quiet Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Camp Gulf, Miramar Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $98.00
Overall Rating:

Hands down our favorite RV park anywhere. Just love it here. Usually we stay a few days as we traverse from Texas to other points in Florida, but this time we spent nine days here and loved every minute. YMMV, but we love the white sands, the perfect beech, the beyond perfect staff and the great restaurants and attractions in Destin. This is our ideal location and we'll go out of our way to find an excuse to stay at Camp Gulf. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

It's possible there's a better RV Park in Albuquerque, but when take the chance? We have stayed here half a dozen times while traversing east/west and this is the go to spot for an overnighter. Beautiful park, well-maintained, charming staff - everything you need. Looking for an extended stay some time, maybe during the balloon fest. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tumble In RV Park , Marfa, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed one night on our way home from Big Bend, but I wish it could have been longer. The owners clearly are attempting to catch a nostalgia vibe with the design of the park and to my mind they nailed it. At times, it felt as though we were on a Tarantino or Coen Brothers movie set. Not only would I stay again, I'd go out of my way to stay again. The town of Marfa, on the other hand, is hardly worth the trip. We camped at Tumble In RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rayford Crossing RV Resort, Spring, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. Beautiful resort, certainly qualifies as luxury. Wide roads, wide concrete sites, plenty of space and privacy. Patio included actual patio furniture, round table with umbrella and gas grille. Staff is first rate and cheerful. The guide to our site even dusted off the patio table when we arrived. Just first rate. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Rayford Crossing RV Resort in a Motorhome.

North Texas Jellystone (formerly Rustic Creek Ranch), Burleson, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here about six weeks while our home was undergoing repairs from an electrical fire. We were perfectly content here and would have stayed longer, but they have an odd policy concerning long term stays. Seems the site we were originally assigned to is one of their premium sites and is not available for extended stay. We would have to move if someone wanted a premium site and all the rest were taken. Trying to reason that we were paying full pop for 7 days a weeks while weekenders only pay for 2 or 3 days didn't register with them. Since we couldn't be guaranteed a spot beyond May 27, we opted to move to another park.

All that said, if you're looking for a short stay and have young kids, this park is highly recommended. There's two pools and lots of activities to keep the kids entertained. I've never stayed at a campground where the cable or wifi are worth a hoot and this was no exception. What I look for is a site with no overhead trees to interfere with our satellite and site 199 was just fine. We would have stayed longer if we could have been guaranteed a spot for a few more months. We camped at North Texas Jellystone (formerly Rustic Creek Ranch) in a Motorhome.

Lakeside RV Park, Livingston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Gorgeous park surrounding a small catch-and-release lake. Beautifully landscaped and well maintained. We stayed here two nights on our way to Key West and just loved. It's just a mile south of I-12 so it's conveniently located and easy to access. Just an hour or so away from both New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Will definitely stay here again. Grand Bayou Resort, Coushatta, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Not sure resort is the word I would use to describe this place, but it's a nice enough campground regardless. Very woodsy with plenty of space between sites, it's well laid out and easy to navigate. Beware that you're in a forest, so trees may likely block satellite reception. We stayed here one night while I transit to Key West and found that it's a bit off the beaten path for an overnight ear. Still, if I were local I probably would enjoy this as a weekend getaway. We camped at Grand Bayou Resort in a Motorhome.

Lakeview RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Hands down the most beautiful RV park we have yet to visit. The well-manicured grass areas were golf course quality, flower beds, rose bushes and well maintained trees everywhere. Would be a disservice to call it a campground. It's a resort. Well-appointed clubhouse with pool tables, table tennis, shuffle board. Heated pool. No grill at the site, but there are community grills throughout the park. We were only here two days, but could easily see staying long term. The only downside I see is there is just one restroom (that I could tell) at the clubhouse and could be quite a hike if your at the back of the park. Other than that, this is a first class resort. We camped at Lakeview RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Slickrock Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 5 nights during Easter Jeep Safari. If you're looking for a resort, this is not your place. However, if all you want is a base camp for exploring Arches or the other parks around Moab, Slickrock works just fine. Unlike most of the campgrounds in Moab, which are basically parking lots with hookups, this camp has plenty of trees for shade. The sites are a bit tight, but roomy enough. All RV sites are just dirt, so if it's rainy expect a lot of mud. There was only one toilet and one shower in the restroom, which necessitates several trips in the morning to find it not in use. Other than that, we had no issues and will return for Jeep week next year. There's a restaurant on the property, which is handy. We camped at Slickrock Campground in a Motorhome.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Well, what a pleasant surprise this. Stopped in for one night on our way to Moab and liked it so much we'll be staying here again on our way home. Every compliment in other reviews is true: it's well maintained, well laid out and perfect for a night or a week. The sites do not include grills, but who travels without a grill? The only quirky thing that stood out is that the restrooms and showers are coed. That may make some ladies a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, this park is ideal. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.
