Stagecoach RV Park, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Decided to camp here for a few days while visiting the area. This location was clearly designed with large RV's and 5th wheel Rv's in mind. Nearly all the sites are pull-thru and much wider than we have seen at many other places. Sites are very level and most have a concrete pad and picnic table. Excellent digital cable. All sites have some trees, but satellite should work well. The water pressure is very good - you may need to use a regulator. Less than a mile to shopping, restaurants and I-95. We camped at Stagecoach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs, Silver Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

To start with - if you are in a large DP and staying less than 1 week - they will put you in the Village Park section. That alone should be enough reason not to go there. If, however, you are staying for more than 1 week, they will put you in the Preserve Estates section. That is a totally different area that was specifically designed for large RV's and is very well laid out. Unfortunately, we were staying less than 1 week so we were told that was not available to us. The entire Village Park section of 142 lots only had 2 small size Gas Class A's and for good reason. The streets are very narrow with branches overhanging in some areas. Cable has 15 channels and there is no WiFi. If we had been put in the section designed for Class A's - our review would be much more positive. The staff are friendly and the grounds are very well kept. Now back to our site - there was a picnic table that was very small and had to have been there since the Civil War. The spacing was "okay". But certainly not very spacious. Way overpriced for what we got. Calling it a "Resort" doesn't make it true. You need modern amenities. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

Punkin Park Campground, Hammond, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Been there - done that - don't need to go back. Grossly overpriced for what it is. The web site says it is 1.6 miles from I-10. Wrong. The road leading to it is 1.6 miles, but the park is actually right beside the right of way fence to the Interstate. The entrance road is very narrow with steep ditch on each side. Just hope no one is coming. Impossible for a big RV and any other vehicle to pass. We camped at Punkin Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Airport Park COE, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

As with most COE parks - this place is a fantastic water themed vacation area. The roads are all paved and easy to navigate. Nearly all the sites have some trees so shade from the hot sun is generally available. The only downside is trying to get to this place. If you are not a local - you will likely have great difficulty in finding it. The address (Skeet Eason Rd) is actually an access road around the airport. There is no signage telling you that you need to go further to get to the actual park entrance - and even then, the sign is not very big or visible. Granted, this is not that big a deal in a car - except if you have a 40ft Rv and are towing. There is no place to turn around. But once you finally get here - you will likely love the setting. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Motorhome.

Rocking A RV Park, Vernon, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good place to stop when traveling between Dallas/Ft Worth and Amarillo. The lots are level and spacious. Water pressure and cable are good. It is next door to a Walmart so you can stock up on supplies if needed. The only downside is the trains. It is next to the main line of BNSF railroad so it can be noisy at night depending on train schedule. We camped at Rocking A RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

There is nothing special about this place. The sites are close. The drive way not very wide. And the interior roads can be difficult to navigate. This was once a KOA and looks like it. (not a compliment). That being said - the cable, WiFi and water pressure were all fine. We used this as a base camp to visit several sites. It is convenient on and off to I-40 and there was very little highway noise. The only downside, as others have mentioned, is the owners attitude. Maybe it is just a weird sense of humor - but he can be difficult to deal with. There is a restaurant on site but we did not use it so can not attest to its quality. We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sundance RV Park, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great place for a base camp to visit Mesa Verde and the many other parks in this area. We chose this park because it is midway between all the National Parks we wanted to visit in Utah and Colorado such as Monument Valley, Canyonlands, Archs, etc. In some case's it was a two hour car drive to the parks - but that is MUCH easier than moving the coach around - assuming you could even find a spot. Places like Arches and Moab are always filled and overpriced. The staff here is excellent and very helpful. The sites are all fairly level and most are treed enough that you may not get a good satellite signal. However, the cable TV and WiFi are very good. The only downside - it is a little difficult to enter the park from the main street when you are towing. However, they have installed a back gate which makes it very easy when you are leaving the park. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is really nothing more than a gravel parking lot. But for $22/nite - who cares. Walk across the street to the restaurant and get some really good food for reasonable prices. Water pressure and cable TV are both okay. We camped at Sky City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Carlsbad KOA, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the better locations when visiting the Carlsbad area. From here you can drive South to Carlsbad Caverns or North to Roswell. The area is level and very dusty. Windy conditions are normal. The onsite restaurant is nice with good food and reasonable prices. They have a very good digital cable TV. In the evening, near the office/restaurant area, you will see plenty of fat squirrels and rabbits. The downside - the WiFi here really sucks - it is useless. However, you can go into the restaurant area where you can watch TV and get great WiFi reception. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Motorhome.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The is a very dry, very windy and very dusty. Guess that is just the norm for this area, however, they are in the middle of a drought. Great digital cable, water pressure and WiFi and the sites are all level. However - there is a bad to all this. Don't know what is in the ground but the quality of the water is very questionable. After several days here, all the silver ware in the dishwasher had turned cloudy and the clothes washer did not get clothes clean. After we left here, it took a considerable amount of CLR to clean the silver ware and washers. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

San Antonio / Alamo KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We do not usually stay at KOAs because they are generally overpriced, old and not big-rig friendly. This location is definitely a step up for KOA. It is still overpriced - but at least the lots and interior roads can be navigated by a big rig with tow. A quaint little feature is there on site "restaurant". This term is used very loosely. (LOL). But other than that - water pressure is good. WiFi is good and there are lots of very tame fat squirrels waiting to be fed. Note: this KOA is a gated location. We camped at San Antonio / Alamo KOA in a Motorhome.

Bayou Bend RV Resort, Baytown, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great place to stay if you want to visit the MANY Houston attraction. The sites are all concrete pads. Water pressure is good, Cable is Okay - the WiFi could be better. But this is typical of RV parks. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the Houston area. Only real downside is that the sites seemed very close together. But, land is probably at a premium in this area. We camped at Bayou Bend RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The campground is about a mile or so from I-10 in a wooded area so there was no road noise. There is no cable TV and since it is wooded - satellite reception is very iffy. Water pressure was good and the roads were easy to navigate. We camped at Triple C's Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cordele KOA, Cordele, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is an update to our visit 2 yrs ago. The Wi-Fi works great and the staff is very helpful. Water pressure and cable are still issues. Unlike most KOA parks, this location was clearly designed for larger rigs. It is not a very large location. Nearly all sites are pull thru and quite wide. Some of the sites have enough room between them to park another RV. The staff is very friendly and escort you to your site. It is a very easy on and off to I-75, however, there are no other facilities here. Exit 101 - which is 4 miles away, has many restaurants and fuel stations. There are a few negatives though. The water pressure is OK but not great. The cable TV is OK, but not great. Stations are so-so in clarity. . We camped at Cordele KOA in a Motorhome. We camped at Cordele KOA in a Motorhome.
