Mount Shasta City KOA, Mount Shasta, California

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We liked this KOA even though it's roads & sites are gravel/dirt, which caused things to get a little dusty. We loved the oak, cedar & pine trees throughout the park. The park also has a small store, outdoor swimming pool and playground area. We did not walk into the "Kamp Kabins" but they looked very nice on the outside and several were occupied over the weekend we stayed there. Our site, 31, had trees on each side which provided nice shade. Each site has a grassy area and a picnic table. You can request a portable fire pit, which we did & burned manufactured logs in. The tree squirrels & blue jays provided us entertainment. We will stay here again. We camped at Mount Shasta City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Oroville / Feather Falls Casino KOA, Oroville, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is small but felt spacious with young maturing trees. We liked the concrete pads but found them not quite level, so you might need some blocks. The park had a small store, a game room, outdoor swimming pool, playground area, bathrooms & showers, none of which we used. We stayed in two spaces, 31 & 33, which were in the 3rd row from the park's entrance. Space 31 is a premium site with a small yard, BBQ, fire pit, table/chairs/umbrella, a wood love seat swing & matching chair. Unfortunately this area is on the opposite side of the trailer's entrance, but we would still choose space 31. Be aware there are neighboring properties on the south side of the park that have barking dogs all night long, so the outside south back-in sites are really nice but if you have your windows open at night you won't get any sleep. It's a relatively short walk to the adjacent casino, which we found very nice, and they do have a shuttle service to & from the RV park. We camped at Oroville / Feather Falls Casino KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Valencia Travel Village, Castaic, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Roads in park are somewhat tight with speed bumps. We have a 40' 5th wheel trailer so we request a space in section K because they are more spacious and easier to access. There is a dog run and playground and small store on premise. We do like all the trees in the park. This park is largely occupied by full time residents, which is quite noticeable by all the items around their trailers. We camped at Valencia Travel Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

6 Flags Magic Mountain is really close to RV park.

There are two train stations in Santa Clarita area to catch the MetroLink train to Grand Central Station in Los Angeles or other cities along the way like Sylmar/San Fernando, Burbank or Glendale.

Bakersfield RV Resort, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Well maintained and nicely arranged RV park with swimming pool area, small workout room, separate function building and good restaurant/bar on gated premises. Very nice staff & easy check-in. Unfortunately, we did have our Trek bikes stolen during the night which were cable locked to the bike rack at the front of our truck (we reported it to the front office & filed an online police report). We camped at Bakersfield RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice grassy area around patio but site was in the second row from outside wall that was adjacent to busy street. Easy pull thru to accommodate our 40' 5th wheel trailer but had to park our truck on the road in front or behind trailer.

Some road noise & loudspeaker noise from business across the street from RV Park.
