Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I came down Thanksgiving evening for a couple of nights to celebrate her 40th birthday. We had been to this park before to simply picnic and look around. This was our first time to camp. The campground is very nice and was all we hoped it would be. Nice, level site with full hookup (#74). We had a back-in and the camp host rode down with his golf cart and flash light and was very nice to help us back in. We took a couple of walks around the campground and noticed you can see the lights of Huntsville below from the edge of the campground. We didn't need to use the bathhouses, but went into them to take a look and they are very clean and well built. Both have a single coin-operated washer and dryer in the central entrance between the men's and women's sides. The camp store seemed to have basic necessity items. NOTE: We highly recommend driving up from Huntsville on highway 431 (Governor's Drive). The other route up (Bankhead Parkway) would be very sketchy for a travel trailer or large fifth wheel/motor home due to the hairpin turns and narrow residential roads leading to it. We definitely plan to camp again. We really enjoyed our stay! We may try a buddy site next time. We have some close friends who camp also. We camped at Monte Sano State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We came down from Tennessee to visit Bridge Street Town Center and do some shopping and visit one of our favorite restaurants (Connor's). We had a fabulous time!

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We made a quick weekend trip to Nashville and stayed at Yogi Bear Jellystone. What a neat place! A very large campground with spacious sites. They have shade or sun, whatever suits you. Our site was generally level, we used a couple of Link levelers on the passenger side. TV antenna reception was very good, being close to downtown Nashville. The campground has cable but it was not very clear. Excellent swimming pool that played an outdoor movie on Saturday night. Very cool 50's diner-type ice cream shop on site. We did not need to use the bath houses, but we did take a look. They are very clean and seem to be well maintained. We were overall very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay again! We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in a Travel Trailer.
