Odetah Camping Resort, Bozrah, Connecticut

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Odetah twice this camping season. We enjoyed our stay both times. The sites are a good size and the bathrooms are clean. The check in process was fast and organized. The trolley car is convenient, however both times we were here we had difficulty getting a ride. It seems as though children used this as an activity. The activities for the children were appropriate but the staff running the activities didn't engage and organize things well. The live music was great.

The pool is located in a shady area of the campground which has its benefits. The pool could be larger. It was very hot our 2nd visit and the pool was extremely crowded. The splash pad construction is underway so that will help. The lake was nice. We kayaked and swam on our first trip. The 2nd trip the lake was too low but this obviously was out of the campground's control. The bugs were vicious but again out if the campground's control. Overall very nice campground. We camped at Odetah Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Bear Creek Campground, Bristol, Connecticut

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This was the first time that we camped at Bear Creek. It was my husband, myself, and my two children We were excited about our trip however disappointed when we got to the campground. I understand that it is a new campground but it felt like we were camping on a tarmac. It was hot and there was no shade or relief in sight. We have air conditioning in our camper but we don't camp to spend 100% of our time in our camper. We did go to the amusement park one day however I do not feel that the discounted price of the tickets was really worth the $60 a night to camp at Bear Creek. It is advertised as being a part of Lake Compounce so my feeling is there should be a larger discount for the amusement park, otherwise don't advertise and sell it as being part of amusement park. The price we paid for the amusement park tickets was the same as any other discount that you can receive by going on the internet. It was not what we expected and we would not return. The staff were friendly and helpful. The water had good pressure. There was no sewer hookups. As stated in other reviews there is a power plant that creates a humming noise 24/7. The facilities were clean just not a place to bring children on a hot summer day unless your planning on spending all your time at the amusement park. The trolley service to the amusement park is very convenient. Campground is pet friendly. We camped at Bear Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lake George RV Park, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

My family and I stayed at this campground on Memorial Day weekend. We were so impressed at the cleanliness, it was spotless. You never saw the staff but they were there emptying your trash and keeping things very neat. The pools were great, clean and warm. The place was huge, we couldn't believe how big it was. There was something for everyone to do. Nice bike trail. The trolleys to the outlets were so convenient. Staff were polite and helpful. The grounds were maintained well. Cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen. We would definitely go back. We camped at Lake George RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wawaloam Campground, West Kingston, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We recently stayed at Wawaloam, we had never been there before so we didn't know what to expect, just what we had researched on the internet. The site was nice, it was open and spacious. All the sites are back-in only, this can be a difficult because of the trees and rocks, but we made it in without any problems. Our neighbors were friendly. We have (2) children so we were excited about the water slide. The pool was nice and clean, large enough to accommodate a decent amount of people. The water slides were only open for 4 hours on Saturday the weekend we were there but we didn't mind. Our kids had a blast. We didn't really see any staff around and the staff we did interact with were pleasant. The one issue I did have was that the seasonals seem to have run of the park. I understand they pay a decent amount to be there but some were not as welcoming as others. It was like the high school cafeteria at the pool and you're the new kid. One gentleman, and I use that term loosely, even yelled at my son, which I felt was inappropriate. There were a lot of adult activities planned but not many for children. I am by no means a prude but the adult activities at one point concerned me. 2 golf carts full of what appeared to be well intoxicated adults racing around the campground loudly singing while little children attempted to ride bikes was a bit much. Overall we had a good time. We left and went to the beach on Sunday which is about 30 minutes away. The area in which the campground is located is very rural and the roads are slightly narrow. We camped at Wawaloam Campground in a Travel Trailer.
