Riverbend Resort, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Our only complaint with this lovely park is the highway noise directly across from our sight. Monday through Friday it woke us about 7:30 everyday. The weekend is not as bad. Some of the other sites without decks were rather close to each other and don't have very mature trees. It is better to choose a site near the river so the noise does not become an issue. It got a bit chilly because of the two feet of snow that Colorado experienced in the northern part on June 21st 2019. The winds From the Canyon can be kind of chilly at site 50. I'm sure it would be much nicer as it warmed up. Sewer pipe needed to be dropped as we had problems unloading our tank because it was kind of high. It is not allowed to have a fire ring if you have a deck. This was sad for us as we look forward to a fire outdoors when we leave in our travel trailer. We camped at Riverbend Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Casa Malpais Campground and RV Park, Springerville, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We had made previous reservations at another Park 5 months prior to our stay and were treated terribly. This park was able to accommodate us and drove us around in their golf cart because it was dark and raining. They were very helpful and accommodating in finding us a place for five days on such short notice. The owner and her park manager were absolutely wonderful. We would stay here again as they were so kind and service-minded. The only problem was a minor electrical problem on our row. It did not impact us too much but it did get warm in the trailer as we were gone most of the two days at a family reunions. Great staff great owners can't say enough about them on a positive note. We camped at Casa Malpais Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bear Paw RV Park, Eagar, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We contacted the park owner in February of 2018 and made reservations for a five-night stay beginning July 18th 2018. She requested half of the $150 total bill, which she received in the latter part of March. We received a receipt dated April 1st, 2018. We spoke with the owner several times over the previous months and expressed our desire both verbally and in writing as to what was our preference for a site. We arrived in the rain on Wednesday July 18th to be told the only site they had available was site number three, near the dump station. We were furious to learn as she stated when she took our deposit money she had no sites available at that time why would she take our money? The the park is cluttered and sort of junky and run down looking. They stated to me that their WiFi was great but would not under any circumstances stream movies. We refused to stay there and requested our money back. The owner was not in at the time and we were told she would be in in the morning. She seemed to avoid our phone calls the next day but after the third try finally answered the phone. She was less than pleasant and reluctantly agreed to give us our deposit of $75 back. Do not stay here! We ended up setting our trailer up in a rainstorm! The park appeared to have many permanent residents with clutter gathered around their units which made the park appear junky looking. Shade was very minimal and spots were very close to each other. We camped at Bear Paw RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We were not given any information after calling their office after hours. Apparently their phones were never forwarded to night status and no one returned our call. We got information from a woman at Walmart that said we were still able to get into the park after hours. A very nice lady at the front desk at the inn gave us information regarding the procedure for after hours. We got in around 10 o'clock and chose a spot based on the available slots for rental no pricing was shown. We had no Wi-fi information nor box necessary for cable. The next morning I spoke to staff in their office and asked for a discount based on the fact that we were only there for 2 hours the previous evening with no Wi-Fi and no cable TV. We did receive a discount based on our Good Sam membership but also found out the site we were in was much more expensive than we had originally planned to spend. We spoke to the clerks at the front desk at the inn and they explained that the phones should have been answered in the RV park no matter the time. We were asked why we did not contact security and it was not detailed on the door that security would handle after hour placement. We will probably not stay here again due to customer service policies as no one in the rv office was authorized to give any additional discounts based on their errors. Park was extremely clean and amenities were great, was a bit pricey though. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Durango North / Riverside KOA, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here the weekend of 8.19.16 and was told we would receive a 10% Veterans Discount and have not heard anything from them and have called them numerous times. Even their employee said we were entitled to the discount. The other employee is rude and unaccommodating to say the least. If your unit is not new and over 30 ft you do not warrant a premium site. The site are small and tight and Wifi is horrible...will not stay here again. We camped at Durango North / Riverside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Little Creel Resort, Chama, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The wifi was horrible and we spoke to the "manager" upon checking out to see if they would make some monetary compensation based on this problem. The "manager" said he is the go-to guy in the area and everyone goes to him to copy his processes in order to get such a great signal.....not true. We have honeymooned in cabins and returned frequently throughout 14 yrs....the owners were different and the property and service shows that. Large areas of dangerous old equipment randomly piled throughout the property. Trash is evident throughout as well as cabins with torn screens, ripped blinds and decks and tables old and splintery. WE will not be returning. We camped at Little Creel Resort in a Travel Trailer.
