Townsite Campground (Parks Canada), Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We loved the location of the park. You are steps from Waterton Lakes, in my opinion one of the most beautiful views in the Rockies. You are also a walk or bike ride from the town with many shops and restaurants. A bit longer ride/walk will get you to the park office and Prince of Wales Hotel. The campground is within walking distance to several trail heads. We hiked Bertha Falls trail and it was beautiful. Our complaint about the campground was the roads. Many potholes! Deer in Waterton are plentiful so don't be surprise if you find them wandering the campground. There were movies every night shown about nature and wildlife in the ampitheater. We camped at Townsite Campground (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort RV Park, Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Back in site. Sites are close together and no shade. Walking distance to pool, hotel and hotel amenities. Additional charge to use pools but you do receive a coupon for a discount on entrance for staying in campground. We chose to skip the pools because they looked completely packed. We played on the sand volleyball court, it was very nice but a long walk from campground. There are several golf courses nearby. We played the par three Creekside course with the kids and it was a lot of fun (larger cups to make putting easier). Small grocery store and shops located nearby. We camped at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

West Glacier KOA, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $116.00
Overall Rating:

We splurged on the patio site in the new section. The site was beautifully landscaped with fire ring with benches, patio table with umbrella and a gas grill. Site was expensive but worth the splurge. The view was beautiful. The park is close to West Glacier NP entrance. We were able to bike from KOA to park (however the hill to the KOA was a bear for us novice bikers). The grounds of the KOA are beautifully landscaped, nice pools- one adults only pool with hot tub and one for families. Small campstore for such a large park. Large grass area we were able to use to play cornhole/washers, volleyball, throw ball around, it was large enough to have a game of football or soccer. Ice cream shop and full service restaurant in campground. Couldn't get WiFi to work. Small dog park that was on old/opposite side of park. Map stated one in the new section but we were told it hadn't been built yet. Despite the few negatives, this is probably the most beautiful park we have stayed in. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Missoula KOA, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with lots to do, game room, free mini golf, pool, hayride (on select dates). Staff very friendly, nice campstore. Close to many restaurants and shops. 3 dog parks! WiFi average. We camped in deluxe site which had separate parking space for our tow vehicle (can't remember our site # but we were on the far end of the park from the entrance). The site was nice and roomy, had nice grass and a fire ring. Our main complaint was the proximity to a run down looking trailer park which had people driving through the campground to get home to their trailers. We camped at Missoula KOA in a Motorhome.

EZ Daze RV Park, Southaven, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We just stopped overnight but will use this park again when staying in Memphis. Staff was very friendly. Park seemed clean. They have a fenced in dog area, it is a sloped run off area but served the purpose of giving the dog a chance to get some exercise! We camped at EZ Daze RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Campground too large. Everything is far away. The camp store, pool, golf are centrally located but they are still quite far from the outer sites. The roads to get places are very confusing, we got lost several times. There is only one entrance/exit which is also far from the outer sites. There are other roads that could serve as a closer exit but they are blocked off by a chain. The only trash is located at the entrance/exit which is not convenient at all. This campground has so many sites, you definitely don't get the small campground feel that most campgrounds have. However they do have a nice beach area with a view of the bridge. There aren't a whole lot of places that you can walk your dog (lots of the grass areas are marked no dogs), but they do have plans to put in a dog park in the future. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw island is beautiful. Great place to ride bikes. You can take your bike on the ferry with you across the island or rwnt one on the island. Pink Pony was a good restaurant on the island as well as Sadies ice cream (try Mackinaw fudge) at the Grand Hotel. Mackinac city downtown has lots of t-shirt/souvenier shops if you like that sort of thing.

Kiwanis Oceanfront Camping, St. Andrews, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We had some difficulty when making our reservation. Phone number didn't work. It took several emails to get our reservation confirmed, but we did book via email several weeks before our stay. We called the day before arriving (number worked this time) and they didn't see our reservation but they thankfully still had a spot available. Site 12 faces the water, we loved the view of the changing tides. We camped at Kiwanis Oceanfront Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of St Andrews is very quaint with lots of small shops and restaurants. Nearby is Ministers Island which is only accessible during low tide, it has trails and an old mansion to tour. We didnt have time but wish we would have visited Kingsbrae garden. St Johns was not worth the one hour drive, just an industrial town and the reversing falls were not as exciting as we had hoped for.

Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

The park has several sites on the war we which are beautiful. We were first in 206 which wasn't on the water but did have a view of the water. The dog park was small but nice. We didn't use it but there was a cafe to purchase food including boiled lobster for dinner! We enjoyed Bar Harbor and Acadia so much we decided to stay an extra night. We were told there weren't any spots available. We double checked online and we're able to find a spot, we went back to the office this time they found it. We aren't sure why they wouldn't have wanted to work harder to find us a spot??? Other than that experience we enjoyed our stay, just wish that the sites would have had full hookups for the price. We camped at Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA in a Motorhome.

Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort, Foxboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

Lots for the kids to do. Scheduled games, activities, bike park, 18 hole Frisbee golf, bocce courts, sand volleyball, gaga ball, fishing lake, baseball fields, this campground has about every amenity I can think of except for mini golf and tennis! There is a cafe with a large menu, they even have treats for dogs! One of our favorite parts of the park was the HUGE dog park!
I would recommend this park for families and people travelling with pets to get the best value. This is one of our favorite campgrounds in the country. Our only negative would be unpaved roads. We camped at Normandy Farms Family Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

About an hour drive to Boston downtown. If going to Boston, we recommend walking around the North End (little italy) area. Very nice restaurants and bakeries, try Mikes for good cannoli. The history walking the Freedom Trail is very interesting. The Old Town Trolley Co. Is a hop on hop off trolley and a great way to see the city.

Plimoth Plantation is about a 45 min. drive and great for the kids to see what pilgrim and Indian life was like in the 1600's.

Hammondsport / Bath KOA, Bath, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

The park is very nice and clean, we loved the dog park. The price is high but included all activities (ie. Mini golf, pedal carts, laser tag, disc golf, jumping pillow, splash pool). Our only complaint was that since we were camping in mid June through the week and most local schools are not on summer break yet, many of the included activities were not open or had shorter hours during the weekdays. Also, due to the timing, the children's pool closed at 5pm on the weekdays which seemed kind of early. We thought the nightly rate was high but reasonable if it included the extra activities. However, since many of the extra activities were not available, it would have been nice if they had adjusted the rate for those weekdays. I'm sure this park is great fun during high season, we probably just hit it at the wrong time. Although, on the bright side, since many sites were empty, we had a nice peaceful stay.
One other recommendation is that they trim the low branches of their trees, we scraped the roof of our motor home on our way out of the park. We camped at Hammondsport / Bath KOA in a Motorhome.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $89.00
Overall Rating:

This is usually a nice park with several amenities. We have stayed at this park before and had a wonderful deluxe site with nice patio furniture and a fire pit. This stay our deluxe site (same price as before) only had a picnic table and fire ring and the sites were closer together. We paid more for the deluxe site thinking we would get what we had before so we were disappointed. Another disappointment was that the park was under construction so the entering/exiting is a bit confusing as well as they tore out the dog park that our lab really looks forward to exercising in and replaced it with blacktop. The playground and pool were also torn out, the basketball court and outdoor chess/bowling were still usable. This campground does have a nice office/store with a small restaurant window for breakfast and lunch. I am glad this was not our first visit to the park or we would probably not be going back. The nightly rate ($10 for each additional person after the first two) is extremely high especially when most of the facilities are under construction. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Downtown Nashville is a fun place for restaurants, bars, and shopping. Jack's BBQ is wonderful, across from Bridgestone Arena. Shuttles are available from the park but we drove to downtown and didn't have any trouble finding parking. Gaylord Opryland Hotel is nice to walk through the indoor gardens but parking is pricey! Opryland mall is nice but crowded.

Overall Rating:

Very nice park, pretty trees, roomy sites. Nice ammenities such as sand volleyball, fishing, and a rec-room with pool tables and Foosball (costs extra). We stayed overnight on the way home from Florida, but would have liked to stay longer. Unfortunately no fenced dog area. No ring at site but there is a community fire pit. No satellite reception due to the pretty trees. Full hook up, pull through. We camped at Grassy Pond FamCamp (Open to the Public) in a Motorhome.
