Lake Huron Campground, Carsonville, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Such potential. Is a big park with pretty good amenities if only the arcade games that are .75 to a 1.00 to play worked. 75% are out of order. The office closes at 5 pm during the week. There is a pizza cafe that also closes at 5 but that doesn't matter because they weren't making any pizzas whole time we were there. It costs us 178 for 2 nights for 6 people in one class A motorhome. That is the most I've ever paid to stay in an RV park and I've stayed in some really nice ones. There was goose poop the size of dog poop all over our site. No wifi at all they said it was under construction. Lost cable TV signal when there was a slight rain shower! They were mostly teenage or 20 yr old girls working in the office who didn't care about anything and were in no hurry at all to wait on us. Could rent a golf cart for $60 bucks a day!! The paddle boats and kayaks were very inexpensive as well so we didn't even bother. It was just taken over 3 mos ago thinking maybe they don't know what doing yet. We camped at Lake Huron Campground in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Portage, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

First night was horrible. We were right next to an extremely loud highway on one side and train on the other. We were far away from playgrounds, pools, etc. I requested we move the next night of our four night stay. That was much better but place is run down. The organized activities were not very organized. The Fathers Day craft for example only took 13 kids. There were triple that many kids there. So our kids got turned away along with several other kids. Had to pay for everything. Putt putt, crafts (if can even get in). Washer and dryer were decent but expensive at $1.50 per load. The lake was horrible. A tiny little area of the beach and water was roped off for swimming. It was not kept up at all and lifeguard acted like it was her punishment to be there. This place is big and could be very nice if they kept it up and seemed to care a little more about it. Was nothing like the website described. We made our own fun but would not stay there again. Oh, and picnic tables were such bad shape had to put towels on bench seats to avoid splinters and paint chips coming off on legs. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in a Motorhome.
