Tucson / Lazydays KOA, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very large RV Park. Clean, clean, clean! Level site, with cement side pad and lemon tree. Sites are large, well spaced. Saw some recent bad reviews, not sure why. The park is in a bit of an industrial area, but not bad at all. Great location to activities. The perimeter sites will hear some traffic, but again not bad. There are small planes flying overhead and the sound of trains but it's not too noticeable - and I am very sensitive to sound. I would give this park a 10 but the showers could have been a bit more modern. This is a great park and will definitely come back again. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent Park in every way. Super Clean, super quiet, lots of space between sites. Super nice folks. This park is a 10. One of the best we've stayed in across the U.S. Run by Sun RV Corporation. Also, La Hacienda is near Lake Travis. It is a beautiful park, quiet, up in the hills. If you like to take advantage of all that Austin has to offer, you have to bite the bullet and manage how you are going to drive into Austin. It can be 35 minutes without traffic (which is only in the middle of the night!) or 50 minutes with traffic. We plan each day around the traffic. Sometimes we go early and because we love music we stay late. In that case of a long day, we go to the Driscill Hotel in the afternoon, have a soda, and take a little rest/snooze on their comfy couches. There is a LOT of construction and traffic all the time, so just be prepared. We camped at La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be prepared for the traffic and construction in and around Austin at all times. It's manageable if you choose your driving routes and times of days carefully.

Austin Lone Star RV Resort, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Very crowded and close together. Lots of vehicles and stuff on individual sites due to "winter Texans" staying 3-6 months and permanent residents. They are building over 100 new pads, supposed to be finished July 2017. Lots of construction on roads around the park so though closer to downtown than some of the other parks, because of the construction it's about the same amount of time to get to your points of interest. Some noise from nearby highways. If you aren't interested in being in Austin for all the things to do, this may be a good park for you. Nice people in the park. We camped at Austin Lone Star RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort, Volo, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This campground/resort is an unexpected surprise. It has a feeling of summertime in the 1950's and 60's. Most sites are shaded by lovely trees and very roomy. Actually the entire place is in one big grove of trees. There is a smaller lake to fish. The grounds are large but feel comfy. Home to seasonal manufactured trailers with a good size area for RV's. For the size of this place, it is very clean and well maintained. Clean pool, nice play areas, paved roads for bike riding. The staff is excellent. They are not on constant patrol like some campgrounds. The patrons are very respectful and it is really quiet here, day and night. We are here in September though. We will definitely be back. Have met some nice folks. We camped at Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Located about one hour from Chicago. Just North of Wauconda and near cute little town of McHenry on the Fox River. 3 miles to Grocery stores - Jewel and Aldi; Home Depot also. There is still many a sprawling corn field nearby which gives this place a sense of openness and peace.

Lake Pleasant RV Park, Bothell, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Great RV Park. Professional Staff. Very clean. Well kept. Asphalt roads in excellent condition. Sites are a bit narrow but most have a row of tall bushes/trees on either side for a really nice privacy. Most have a strip of grass. Well planned park. Quiet, respectful RVer's and full time inhabitants. So close to everything. There are nature trails within the park, 2 min drive to fantastic Sammish River Bike/Walk trails that extends for miles (paved, wide and beautiful). It's a pleasure to be so close to many towns including Seattle yet feel like we are in a quiet oasis. There is a good vibe in the little town of Bothell and the surrounding area. We would definitely stay here again possibly for several months. We camped at Lake Pleasant RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Sammish River Trail and Burke-Gilman Trail. Paved, wide, beautiful. About 15 miles. You can go to the left or the right from the parking lot at 102nd street. Take the trail to the right towards Woodlinville and you will find yourself in an open oasis of beautiful panoramic land, quiet, peaceful even at the height of busy summer.

Safeway across the street. Restaurants 2 minutes away.

Be aware that there is traffic most times of the day. It can be manageable but if driving on the 405 or 5 through Seattle, know you will be in traffic.
