Buffalo / I-40 / Exit 143 KOA, Hurricane Mills, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park over all but the sites were kind of close. Our utility hookup was on the neighbor's spot. Pros: Wi-Fi and cable channels were provided. Staff was really friendly and welcoming. There is a nice little camping/snack store. Cons: The spots are really not level. Our utility pole was on the neighbor's pad and it felt kind of awkward going on his/her pad to attach connections. Kind of pricy for the quality of the setup; gravel roads, some places had flower pots some didn't, some had picnic tables some didn't. We camped at Buffalo / I-40 / Exit 143 KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Paintsville Lake Campgrounds, Staffordsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground with lake and marina. Pros: The campground area has a gate attendant which creates separation from the lake and marina which creates a boundary for spectators. Nice swim area, ice can be purchased at the campground gate for $2, staff is super nice, and RV pads are pretty solid. Super nice trails just outside the main entrance including an 1850s historic farm. The road to the gift shop is a dam which provides pretty neat scenery. Cons: Gravel is tiny on pads and like to stick to bottom of foot wear. When it rains, twice as much gravel ends up in the camper. A good mat can reduce the amount that makes it into the camper. The Wi-Fi is not free. There is a $9.99 fee for three days. Not sure Verizon has good cellular signal, but AT&T makes it in well. We camped at Paintsville Lake Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Ole RV Resort, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with good proximity to other stores. Pros: Very friendly staff and nice restrooms. Cons: Some spots were really close. We had to be relocated because our slides probably wouldn't have had room to be opened in the originally allocated spot. The new spot we were moved to, I had to pull out between two other campers because of the utility arrangements. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Midway RV Park (Military FamCamp), Mid-South Naval Support Activity, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

The front gate was the only one open at the time we arrived. We had used the Singleton gate before which was/is more convenient, but was not open the time. Pros: The price is very nice and so is the convenience to the base exchange and commissary. The lots are nicely spaced and allow for plenty of room between other campers. Cons: Slabs are breaking and not all the utility pole lights work. Not a lot of things to do at this site, but it provides a nice stopping point. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.
