Big Bone Lick State Park, Union, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Older State Park with 30-amp electric and short, unlevel sites. We didn't see any site in this park that was level. All sites were very short. There was gravel parking next to the camper though. AT&T and Verizon were spotty, we did get satellite. They have a laundry which was handy and only $1.25 for wash and $1.00 for dry. Lots of hiking trails. No sewer, but a dump station that was also very short. Very convenient location for visiting the Ark and Creation museums. We camped at Big Bone Lick State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. The sites were pretty short for today's size of RV's. There was no place other than on the grass to park a vehicle. We arrived on a Monday early afternoon to check-in and was told the camp store was now closing on Mondays and to come back the next day to register. We were only there for one night and had pre-paid, so didn't go to the store. Would've been nice to have that information before we got there so we could've went right to our site. Some noise from the interstate, but not too bad. There is no sewer, but 2 dump stations available. Satellite coverage was good at our site. AT&T and Verizon had good signals. Could not connect to the campground WIFI from our site, #13. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Breckenridge Lake RV Campground, Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice and quiet park. It is in a beautiful setting. The office wasn't open when we arrived on Friday and had a note they would be back on Sunday, which was fine as they left our paperwork and gave a phone # to call if issues. Water hydrants are shared between sites and we had to run our hose under the rig to get there. We did not hookup our satellite dish, but not sure we would've been able to get a signal with all the trees. This park was just awarded best RV Park in Crossville for 2019. We would definitely stay here again. Probably the only negative in my opinion, is there wasn't enough washers and dryers for the size of the park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Breckenridge Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

El Reno Lake Campground, El Reno, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park several times. It is great for an overnight. It had been a couple of years since we had been here and it has gone downhill somewhat. Trash was overflowing in the trash cans at each site and there was a lot of drive-thru traffic. Had some scary looking "backpackers" that were sitting on a site. Sites are not very level. There is also quite a bit of noise from I-40. The city park is nice with lots of things to do, but not sure we'd come back to the campground. They really need to have someone there to run the park. Utilities worked well. We camped at El Reno Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lost Creek RV Park, Stephenville, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little park right on US281. Lots of long-term residents, but sites kept up. All utilities worked well, satellite coverage, cellphone coverage also good. A little noisy being right on US281, but not too bad. Sites were gravel and fairly level. Nice place to overnight. We camped at Lost Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was an overnight stay for us. It is a nice little park with lots of long-term residents. Sites are well maintained. Utilities worked well. It is right on US281 so very loud at all hours. We camped at Spring Branch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Murray State Park/Buzzards Roost, Ardmore, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground on Lake Murray. Sites are concrete and very spacious. Hosts were very friendly. All utilities worked well. Satellite coverage and cellphone coverage were all good. They have sites with FHU but we chose W/E. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Lake Murray State Park/Buzzards Roost in a Fifth Wheel.

Bentsen Palm Village RV Park , Palmview, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 months, and the rate is based on a monthly rate. This is a very nice park with a lot of very friendly people. It is in a very nice setting with trees and shrubs all around. Sites are different shapes and sizes, but pretty level and well spaced. The WIFI worked great, we didn't care for the water. Electric was good. They do have lots of activities, the down side to this park is the facilities are not large enough to accommodate the number of sites they have. The pool is way too small, the community building will not hold everyone, only 12 washers and dryers for the whole park (located in 2 different buildings). We would stay here again as it is such a nice setting, but we didn't participate in many of the activities just because we didn't like being crammed in a building that was so loud you couldn't hear the person setting next to you. We camped at Bentsen Palm Village RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gateway to the Gulf RV Park & Campground, Victoria, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Things started off bad with this park when I stepped out onto a fire ant hill. We got our spray out and took care of them. Then we plugged in and got set up. The electric started dropping out so we contacted the office. We were moved to another site. Things were ok with that site. There is quite a bit of road noise and a nearby train runs a couple of times during the night. The staff were very friendly, but this was a very plain park in need of updating. Sites are pretty close together and alternating directions so you share the utility pedestal with your neighbor. Probably won't return to this park. We camped at Gateway to the Gulf RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wilderness Lakes RV Resort, Mathis, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really great park. The sites are very large and plenty of room in between sites. Lots of trees but easy to get satellite. Most sites are held by yearly leases, and everybody seems to know everyone else and make a point to meet the "newbies". Very friendly atmosphere. All utilities worked well. WIFI is a pay type through a local company (we didn't use). The only down side in my opinion is the dusty roads. This is a great wilderness park and lots of activities. Rate was 1/2 price with Passport America. Great value. Will return if in the area. We camped at Wilderness Lakes RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Great COE Park. Huge sites with water/electric. All utilities worked well. Satellite coverage and phone coverage were good. They do have FHU in some sites but we were only 3 nights so didn't use. Sites were a little sloped from front to back. We camped at Cottonwood Point COE in a Fifth Wheel.

South Owl RV Park, Yates Center, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little city park by a lake (not lakefront). Sites were not very well defined. They are back to back with each other. We took up 2 sites as they would've been too short otherwise. Sites are not very level at all. All utilities worked well although the sewer was about a foot above ground with a "y" for 2 lines to be connected and were totally open. No lids on either. It is self pay but no envelopes so we called the # listed and they asked if we could come by city hall to pay! There is a playground for kids. Good place for overnight. We camped at South Owl RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

North Star RV Park and Mobile Home Community, Valley Center, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park several times as it is close to relatives. It is a great one-night stop, and not bad if you need a place to stay for business/family. It is not a destination stop. All utilities work well, WIFI is fair. Only a mile off the interstate, and the noise isn't bad at all. The owner is always there to guide us in. The sites could use some leveling and he was waiting for rock to be delivered (although we've heard that several times now). The park has some old playground equipment and really just needs a facelift, but a really great park for a short stay. We camped at North Star RV Park and Mobile Home Community in a Fifth Wheel.

Mill Creek COE, Lampe, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the best COE parks we have stayed in. Extremely large paved sites, utilities all worked well. Satellite coverage was good. AT&T and Verizon worked well. If it were FHU, it would be a 10. Probably the most noise you hear is from the people pulling their turd buckets to the dump station. This is a really great park and early reservations are a must if you want to stay a week. We stayed 4 nights which is about as far as we can get on without dumping or using the public restrooms. We camped at Mill Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Mi Casa on the Route RV Park, Carthage, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. All utilities worked well. The laundry was spotless. $2.25/washer, .25 for 7 minutes of drying. Just a little road noise, but not bad at all. We stayed here 2 nights and would definitely stop again if in the area. The only thing that would make it better for us was the shade. It was quite hot while we were there, and the shade would've been really nice. Great park! We camped at Camp Mi Casa on the Route RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
