James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section), Fruita, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself was well located for our travels. This is our first time to stay in a Colorado park. We are from Texas and are very familiar with our state parks. Our stay in Colorado is after spending several weeks in state parks in AZ and UT. We stopped at the rv park across the street from the park entrance to get propane. While there, we unhooked our toad. When we got to the state park entrance, the woman at the visitor center informed us that we would have to pay an extra entrance fee for the car because we had detached it. She said that we could go back around and reattach and then reenter the park and not have to pay the extra fee. My husband came up during this discussion and she informed him of the RULES. I told him that this park had negative reviews on Yelp because of the customer service at the entrance. The woman at the gate then said to me so you must have known the rules since you read the reviews. We were tired at this point so I just paid the difference and we went to our campsite. The campsite itself was great. I hope that the customer service was an anomaly and not indicative of Colorado state parks. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Motorhome.

Wilderness Edge Campground, Millinocket, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed during a very rainy week. The owners were great hosts who answered all of our questions about the areas and shared information. Our campsite was lovely and our front yard was a beautiful Maine landscape with numerous trees and large boulders. The dump site was convenient to use. There is a pool and a large playground for kids. We camped at Wilderness Edge Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed several of the restaurants in Millinocket as our outdoor time was limited due to the weather. Grocery stores, hardware stores, etc. are very close to the campground. We enjoyed breakfast at Ruthie's. The food and service were both good.

Timberland Acres RV Park, Trenton, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the park over a long fourth of July weekend. We used the park as a basis for our visit to Acadia. We found the folks in the office to be very helpful and friendly. The pull through sites were very long and more than enough space for our motorhome and toad. The laundry room had several machines and was well laid out. The bathrooms had several showers with good hot water and pressure. There were numerous amenities for families. There were many seasonals with some beautiful gardens. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We tried both the Trenton Bridge and Beal's (SW Harbor) lobster pounds. Both were great! Also, we went to the Great Maine Lumberjack Show which we thought was great and not a corny tourist trap.

We enjoyed swimming in the lake. The beach was great! Our site was long enough for our motorhome and to park our car. The staff was very friendly. We had to jump start our battery in our car and the maintenance person helped us. We camped at Kokatosi Campground in a Motorhome.
