American Heritage Campground, Olympia, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

On the good side. Nice forested sites, very large with easy access. Quiet and peaceful, no road noise at all. Very dark, I was a bit surprised that the park has no lights at all, be sure you have a flashlight with you!. On the down side, this park was way too expensive for what you get. Our site had power and water, no sewer, no cable, no Wifi. But they charge as much as full service locations. Parking was dirt, no grass or gravel. The dirt and mud and pine needle got everywhere. We camped at American Heritage Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Port Townsend is really beautiful, so was Port Gamble. Nice shops, the bays and waterways are awsome.

Jantzen Beach RV Park, Portland, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself was nice, the employees were very nice and helpful. The sites was average in size, a bit tight to back into. The Park was clean and in good condition. Unfortunately there was an issue that was outside the parks control the impacted our stay. The noise was horrible. The park is directly in the flight path for both commercial and military aircraft. Also the roadway right outside the park has constant semi trucks moving back and forth. Pretty much all day and night. We camped at Jantzen Beach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We just returned from a 3 night stay in this resort. It was a fantastic experience. The park itself is in the marina at Winchester Bay Oregon. This little town is geared for 2 things, fishing and ATV riding. Winchester bay is in the mouth of the Umpqua river, so you have freshwater fishing on the river or of course the Pacific Ocean is right there. The town is also right in the middle of the Oregon Sand dune system. What I found really interesting was that most everyone there was fishing or riding ATVs in the sand dunes; the beaches were nearly empty. One of the days we went down we had the beach to ourselves. It was great! As for the RV park:

Paved very level sites. All pull-through with the exception of the ones with waterfront views.

Good cable and actually usable WiFi. Not perfect WiFi but usable. Extremely clean. We did not use the laundry or the rest rooms but judging from the rest of the park I would have to guess they were clean.

Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. Wood is available for 5 bucks a bundle.

Fantastic views, from the forest to the sand dunes to the river and the ocean. Surprisingly quiet. I would have assumed with all the ATVs around that it would be noisy, but the town segregates the ATVs to the entrance of the sand dune area. They are not buzzing through the town.

Has its own dock just for crabbing. The town itself is a quaint little fishing town. More bait/tackle and ATV shops than restaurants and gift shops. A very extensive marina for those with boats. Several charter boats available for fishing in either the river or out on the ocean. If you are into the gift shop kind of thing (my wife and I are) ½ hour north is Florence, with a really nice old town area for gifts and antiques. Also ½ hour to the south is North Bend and Coos Bay. We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Icicle River RV Park, Leavenworth, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I really wanted to give this park an excallent review. Unfortunatly we left dissapointed. As we pulled into the park we were greeted by extrimly nice and very helpful staff. A very kind fellow guided us to our site. As were were driving through the park we were seeing green grass and nice cement pads. Than we turned a corner into the getto, the spot we were given was dirt, no grass, no cement pad. The sites were very close together and it took a lot of wiggling just to get into and out of the site. No privicy at all between rigs. Our overall impression was dirt, thats all you saw was dirt. We camped at Icicle River RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Pleasant RV Park, Bothell, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

On the good side. The park is pretty and quiet. Sites are reasonably private.

On the bad side. Managment is grumpy and rude. The site we were placed at slopped down to the lake so severly I could not level my trailer. This was by far the most diffacult site I have ever experienced backing into. If you are not completly comfortable backing your rig, STAY AWAY! The lake, if you want to call it that was mud brown and smaller than many of the ponds you will find in public parks. This is one of the more expecnsive parks we have stayed at, but very mininal TV service and only 1 hour a day of free WIFI. And the WIFI was so low powered we could barely get reception inside the trailer. The managment must be used to complaints. They had a rather large "No Refunds" sign right on the check in desk. We camped at Lake Pleasant RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
