Buck Creek RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Long sites with plenty of room for big rigs and their tow behinds. Plenty of grass with rigs a good distance from one another. It appears quite a number of folks either store their rigs here, or stay year round. Road noise from I-20 isn't an issue at all - barely noticeable. We camped at Buck Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

El Paso-West RV Park, Anthony, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

On a mid=week trip east, we snagged the last spot for an overnight stay. We met several of the 'longer term' residents and were received well. Everyone we met seemed friendly and happy to stop and have a chat. Other reviews indicted an issue with 'road' noise, but we did not experience any such things on the third road from the main road. The interior roads are a bit narrow for big rigs and a toad, and the pull through's were a snug fit for our rig. We plan to try a few other parks on our next visit through the area - because were certain we can find a better deal. We camped at El Paso-West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Escondida Lake Park, Socorro, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived at this very clean, small, public RV campground later in the day, and noticed all the campsites had "reserved" signs on the power boxes. A quick call to The County Manager indicated which sites were 'open.' The park boasts a stocked, small fishing lake - where plenty of folks had chosen to fish. we also noticed a nice hiking trail around the lake. Campground was quiet, and had full hookups. We plan to stay here on our next pass through the area. We camped at Escondida Lake Park in a Motorhome.

Lonestar RV Park, Shamrock, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a park is located on Route 83 just a few blocks North of I-40. The Full Hook Up RV park is a 'No Frills' place - attached to a restaurant called the Mesquite Canyon. The Sister of The Restaurant Owner owns the RV Park. Therefore, you go pay your nightly fee ($20.00 per night) in the restaurant. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, and the food (and service) were excellent! This park is simple, with no amenities, but is a great spot to spend the night. We'll stay here again. We camped at Lonestar RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cedarbrook RV Park & Campgrounds, Mulberry Grove, Illinois

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Many seasonal campers throughout this property, but plenty of room to accommodate over-night campers like us. With a winter storm on its way, we simply needed a place to hunker down for the night, and Cedar Brook RV Park fit the bill perfectly. The Entrance (and Exit) road is a bit tight for larger rig. We (in our 41 ft) made it in and out OK, but we had to take it slow, and things were a bit tight. The friendly and helpful staff set us up and offered any assistance we might need - including a ride to the local grocery so we wouldn't have to unhook our tow vehicle. While we didn't require a trip to the store, it sure was nice for these folks to offer. We camped at Cedarbrook RV Park & Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Delaware County Fairgrounds, Muncie, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Plenty of open spots as we passed through Muncie, Indiana. You'll need to phone in / email paperwork if you plan on staying over the weekend as staff is only onsite during the weekdays (we visited off season). A Sheriff Department Substation exists on the Fairgrounds. Since Deputies travel in and out of the facility all day and night, one could not ask for better security. You'll want to enter though the South Entrance - off Wheeling. You'll see plenty of room to turn around if you decide not to stay. With friends in Muncie, we plan to return here numerous times in the future. We camped at Delaware County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

W.H. Lyon Fairground, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We phoned en route to this location and the 28 year full-time veteran RV-er / camp host told us to give them a shout as we pulled into the property. We did and our new friends escorted us to our site directly across from the restrooms and shower facilities. Our location came equipped with electric and water hook ups - and was all we needed. A dog show and a Haunted House were the activities on property that particular day, but we had plenty of room. All sites were well kept, level and free of debris. The Fairgrounds sit just a few blocks off the interstate and its easy off easy back on - with no need to unhook. We plan on staying here once again on our return trip next Spring. We camped at W.H. Lyon Fairground in a Motorhome.

BJ's Campground, Lusk, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Located three blocks off Main Street, BJ's Campground provides an excellent staging area for a Black Hills Vacation. Full Hookups (including both WiFi and Cable TV) exist at every site - with almost every location providing 'pull-thru' access. Boasting some of the least expensive laundry charges any place we've ever stayed, the owners make you feel like part of their family from the moment you arrive. Have an issue with your rig? No problem. The park's resident mechanic and all around ambassador of goodwill - has the knowledge, skills and experience to get you back on the road as soon as possible. The City Park sits directly across a neighborhood street from the campground - complete with playground, charcoal grills and ramadas. Restaurants, bars and convenience stores all are within 3 blocks of this establish. With 80% of the campsites belonging to short timers, the campground does have a few longer term residents. Should one need to stay longer, the two owners are happy to accommodate. Would we stay here again? Absolutely. In fact, we returned a week later after our original stay. We plan to make it a regular stop from now on. We camped at BJ's Campground in a Motorhome.

A Prairie Breeze RV Park, Menoken, North Dakota

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Locating a reasonable priced campground in and around Bismarck, ND, prior to The Spring Thaw represents, at best, a challenge - for even the most seasoned RV traveler. Having arrived several weeks earlier than any normal year most campgrounds had yet to open, and those that had opened, found themselves with frozen water and sewer systems. A Prairie Breeze offered several work around solutions for the weather conditions as they diligently sought to repair damaged or frozen systems. Even under the most challenging of conditions, bathrooms and showers remained clean 24 hours a day - often with heavy use. Within days of our arrival, all obstacles had been overcome and we never felt put off or inconvenienced in any way. If you need seek places to stay where ownership goes above and beyond - even for circumstances outside of their control - A Prairie Breeze RV Park is your place to stay. We camped at A Prairie Breeze RV Park in a Motorhome.

No Name City RV Park & Campground, Sturgis, South Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived in Sturgis, SD on May 1. 2017 and have spent our time living in The Black Hills at No Name City - until the end of this October. The owners have made us feel like family from the first moment we arrived. Whether personally delivering UPS packages directly to our motor-home door, keeping us informed of the week's activities or inviting us over for a cold, adult beverage, we felt right at home and our business appreciated. Clean restrooms, organized laundry facilities and modern, easily accessible showers represent but a few of the many amenities located throughout No Name City. We enjoyed relaxing in the heated pool (as well as the hot tub), and travelers with kids should enjoy the mid RV Park playground. Located mere minutes from downtown Sturgis, access to all of The Black Hills starts one expressway exit away. Whether you're in town for the night, for the entire season, or looking to enjoy The Sturgis Bike Rally, you'll find the perfect spot to stay, right here, at No Name City RV Park & Luxury Cabins! We camped at No Name City RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Riverside Campground & RV Park, Belle Fourche, South Dakota

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

With a Spring Snowstorm on the way, we stopped for a brief overnight at Riverside Campground in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Although not yet open for the season, the owners accommodated our needs, provided prompt, friendly service and apologized for not having all the "amenities" up and running. Located three short blocks from Route 85, Riverside provided a strong Wi-Fi Signal and a beautiful view of the River / Creek / Large Stream which flows around the property perimeter. Located walking distance from 'Downtown' Belle Fourche, SD, Riverside sits just far enough from Sturgis, SD to make the drive reasonable. To be honest, cheaper places (right along that same route) exist, but we had no idea of their locations and had a storm rolling in. We probably wouldn't stay here again - simply because a better deal exists right up the road. We camped at Riverside Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park, Pecos, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We were quite surprised to find Tra-Park RV Park in the Escapees Family of Parks, but the pickn's are slim in that part of Texas, so you take what you can get. There really isn't anything 'wrong' with the place. Friendly, Helpful and Courteous service greeted us upon our arrival. We only needed a place to stay for the night that provided electricity. Tra-Park fit our needs perfectly in that respect. Hence, the High Numbers in our review. Quite a number of the residents of this RV Park made their money working in the Oil Business in one capacity or another. For the sheer number of rigs on the property, the place was much quieter at night than we would have expected. Then again, we were passing through on a weekday. Things might be different on the weekends. Again, using the metric of 'Needs Met (or not)', Tra-Park provides a reasonably priced 'overnight' stay in an area where not many options exist. We'd overnight here again if the need ever presented itself. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Moon Landing RV Park & Marina, Cross Hill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We passed through this area of South Carolina just as the Spring Break / Camping Season kicked into high gear. Very few RV Parks / Campgrounds even had an opening. The friendly folks at Moon Landing stepped up and offered us a spot. Moon Landing (and its associated parks) cater predominantly to the 'Seasonal' or Weekend Camper / Boater as many of their parks sit right on Lake Greenwood. The various properties come complete with all the amenities one would expect from High Priced 'Destination Campgrounds' - but the Moon Landing folks provided their brand of Cadillac Service at a Pick Up Truck Price. With only 5 spots in our area, we had plenty of room to walk around and very little traffic. Our spots came with Free WiFi - which Moon Landing upgraded during our stay when one of the campers suggested how to improve the signal. While we never experienced any issue with the WiFi, we felt their prompt attention to a potential problem warranted mention here. Another benefit of staying with Moon Landing RV Park is they provide FREE firewood for the campfires. When our plans changed, and we decided to depart a few days earlier than anticipated, Moon Landing, unsolicited, provided us a rebate for the unused portion of our stay! Amazing. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Moon Landing RV Park & Marina in a Motorhome.

Carrollwoods RV Campground, Tabor City, North Carolina

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nestled in a forested area just a bit southeast of Tabor City, North Carolina, Carrollwoods provides a peaceful, quiet escape from the madding crowd of Myrtle Beach. Located a mere 3.5 miles from the NC / SC Boarder and only minutes from the area's beach activities, Carrollwoods RV Park combines Cadillac Service with a Pick Up Truck Price. Less expensive than the huge, corporate RV Parks on Myrtle Beach, this family owned and operated RV park provides all the amenities needed for an overnight stay, a weekend getaway or a seasonal camper. Plenty of trees dispersed across large, level sites, with a robust cable channel selection - combined with a strong Wi-Fi Signal - make this park one of the best values throughout the area. Endless hot water in the extremely clean shower / restroom areas, a fishing pond and swimming pool round out these excellent accommodations. Not only would we stay here again. We plan to do so next year on our return to the area. We camped at Carrollwoods RV Campground in a Motorhome.
