Bridgeview RV Resort, Lethbridge, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

A nice and clean park, but you pay for it. You'd think that for the high price your shower would at least be free. But no. Free WiFi is not true at your site. It's Tango in the park. The freeway is in the back yard, so highway noise is constant.

Access is strange. Going eastbound on 3, you take a roundabout way to get here and make a sharp turn off of a westbound freeway ramp to get into the park. You can't go east from here; you have to go back (westbound) to the exit where you got off eastbound and make a complete loop to get on eastbound.

It's not bad, just weird and inconvenient. Heading westbound, take the exit after crossing the river. Taking the exit prior to that requires a U turn and entering a busy freeway with absolutely no on-ramp. We camped at Bridgeview RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Go go Coaldale and visit the Alberta Birds of Prey. The only place we've found where you can hold various owls and get close to other birds.

Sprague Lake Resort, Sprague, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park set on the north end of Sprague Lake. The park was clean. It was very quiet except for frequent long trains that run just across the lake. The lake is very scenic and offers fishing from the campground. Sites were fairly level and all grass. We'd stay again. We camped at Sprague Lake Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Spruce Grove Resort, Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice and clean campground with limited full hookups. It's situated along the upper reaches of the Columbia River in an incredibly scenic part of Canada. Sites are grass and gravel and 95% level, meaning our rig is less than a degree off side-to-side. Excepting for some highway noise and an occasional train, it's a quiet campground. This is not a resort, like a Class A only motorhome resort. It's a campground. It's also associated with the Fairmont Hot Springs RV Resort a couple miles up the road, which is much more resortish. Spruce Grove advertises that they have all the amenities of the Hot Springs resort, but they don't. There is no dining or hot springs at Spruce Grove; it's a nice campground, although their entry sign says they do have dining and hot springs. One nice thing about this Canadian campground is that they don't charge for showers, something I'll not get used to about any campground. One fee should take care of all the basic necessities. We camped at Spruce Grove Resort in a Travel Trailer.

White's City RV Park, Whites City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The only thing going for this place is its proximity to the Caverns and full hookups. The laundry room had trash running over and bugs everywhere. At least the equipment worked. The men's bathroom door didn't lock, and the 'showers' were a big cement room with a shower head in one corner, a sink in in another, and a toilet in another. No shower curtain, and the men's door didn't lock. The place is poorly lit; it would be easy to turn your ankle looking for the bathroom door. It looks like mostly full-time rigs are parked here for folks working in the oil fields. But, again, it's so close to the Caverns, making it at least convenient to stay here. I'd return here for the Caverns, but it's not a destination place. We camped at White's City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chinook Bend RV Resort, Lincoln City, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

As has been said, this is rustic, dirty, in disrepair, not deserving of being called a resort. BUT, if you like watching riparian fowl, this is a fun place. Several Great Blue Heron seem to call this area home as well as Belted Kingfisher. When the fog lies out over the landscape and the river, it's quite enchanting. Don't go here for the recreation or it will cost you. Don't go here for the resort feel. Do go here for watching wildlife along the river, including the fisher folk. We camped at Chinook Bend RV Resort in a Motorhome.
