Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort), Walland, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Now named Whispering River RV Resort. New owners are providing the same friendly service as the previous owners. Beautiful setting in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains on the Little River. A great place to relax and get away from it all. Good cable TV, WiFI and pool. Bathrooms are private and spotless. Whispering River also has rental cabins and a spacious events center. We love Whispering River and will return often. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. Beautiful setting on the banks of the Little River and surrounded by mountains. Near Townsend, the quiet side of the Smokeys. Not far from the hustle bustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Not a long driving distance to Knoxville, about 28 miles.

Lakeview RV Park, Bluff City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Campground of the Year in Tennessee in 2013-2014. Unfortunately, under new ownership, and things have slipped. Grounds aren't maintained as well as before, bathrooms are not as clean as before and the Grill is no longer open. In addition, Boone Lake Dam is under repair, so the lake water is not at recreational level. That rules out boat rental and/or fishing from the dock. The former owners were very customer focused. The current owners seem more focused on maximizing profit and less on customer service for customers. Hardly any of the former staff are employed at the campground. We camped at Lakeview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Bristol Motor Speedway is 3 miles away. The Museum of Country Music is in Bristol. Unfortunately, pontoon boat rental and fishing are not possible this summer (2015) due to repair work on Boone Dam.
