Boone RV Park, Lampasas, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We checked in on Sunday when the office is closed, without reservations. The process went very well and we were quickly at a site. This is a somewhat small park and the space we were in was very tight side to side. The utilities were OK. Since were were under a tree we used the cable which had a good number of channels but the quality was OK at best. The biggest issue we had was the road noise. Our site was 50 or 60 feet off the highway and at times the road noise distracted from our stay. The campground is on the edge of town and you hear traffic accelerating while going out and decelerating when going in. The noise is intermittent which was for us more noticeable than being on an interstate. Some sites had picnic tables, but ours did not. We would stay here again if the need arises. We camped at Boone RV Park in a Motorhome.

La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 6 weeks in this park and it was a very pleasurable stay. Our site was spacious and quiet. The dog run is the largest we have ever seen (1 acre). There are numerous activities available at the park. This is near Lake Travis in the Hill Country. There is plenty of shopping within ten miles or so and Austin proper is about 30 minutes away. We camped at La Hacienda RV Resort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Fredericksburg, Texas KOA, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We had a really nice site with good spacing to others. We asked for a receiver satellite friendly site. Many have trees. It is a few minutes to drive into Fredericksburg. There are two wine tasting rooms within a moderate walk and many more within a short drive. The park had a nice dog run. We camped at Fredericksburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Austin Lone Star RV Resort, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here when our coach required service in Buda Tx. The staff were very accommodating of our unpredictable needs. We ended up staying 10 days and enjoyed the time. The main negatives we had were the traffic noise from I-35 and the fact that this park is on the feeder. For those not familiar with Texas highways, this means that to get to the park you need to go about two miles south of the park to be able to turn around go back north to get to the park.

Our site was an adequate size with trees that did not interfere with our satellite. They have trash pickup at your site and we were able to buy propane on site. We camped at Austin Lone Star RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time we have stayed at this park while crossing Texas. Check in was easy and we were guided to our site. A tree interfered with our satellite but the cable was fine. There is easy access to the river and the pet area was good. We were only here one night each time. Navigating the campground was easy. Our cell access was marginal. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.

St. Vrain State Park, Longmont, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at a full hook-up site. The site was a level concrete pad and all utilities were fine. The picnic table is under a shelter on a gravel pad. The highway noise is very noticeable but not a issue when inside. Walmart and King Soopers (supermarket) are about 5 miles away in opposite directions. Earlier in the season there are a lot of birds due to the numerous lakes. There are several trails around and between the lakes. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The sites in this park are pretty close together. We are able to get our slides out but you are very close to your neighbor. It can be very muddy when it rains. This campground is in town so your are close to groceries and several big box stores. Boulder is a short drive and Denver is about half an hour away. The location is the best feature. We found this park to be fairly quiet. We were one of the lucky sites that had a picnic table. Most don't. We camped at Boulder County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Boyd Lake State Park, Loveland, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older state park with nice facilities. The parking in each site is an unusual curved patch of asphalt. The combination of a slight incline and this curve can make parking a little challenging. The side to side spacing is OK but the space between loops is generous. This is an electric-only campground but there is a dump station. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Cheyenne KOA, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The park facilities are very clean and neat. The park is all gravel and even when it rains it is not too messy. The rate is a monthly rate. Utilities were good. The managers were friendly and helpful. There is more than the usual space between sites but it is a commercial park so you are lined up with your neighbors. Trees are scatter about the park but most would not interfere with satellite reception. We camped at Cheyenne KOA in a Motorhome.

Douglas KOA, Douglas, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This campground appears to be mostly divided between short term and long term guests. Most long term guests were, in what appears to be, a newer section located toward the back of the campground. Our site was large enough for our coach and our toad parked side by side. Some sites have a patch of real grass, but our's did not. Trash cans are located at the sites and were emptied at least once a day. Our site was reasonably level but was close to our ability to level because the rear of the site was low. We safely leveled without moving around. Even though this is a KOA Journey CG, there were activities like a barbecue and campfire with marshmallow roast. Espresso drinks were available for sale in the morning. Even though this campground is not right on I-25, the highway is in sight. The noise was not objectionable. We camped at Douglas KOA in a Motorhome.

River's Edge RV & Cabins Resort, Evansville, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 10 days and our rate includes a weekly rate plus 3 discounted days. We were parked in a new section that was just recently opened. The host was very helpful and allowed us to select one of a couple of sites that would best meet our needs. The astro turf patch and picnic table met our needs nicely. This is Wyoming and there were times when it was extremely windy. In spite of that, the dust from the gravel base was not a problem. There was no usable natural shade at our site. The wifi worked well as did our AT&T wireless. The day we arrived the campground hosted a free barbecue. The mall in Eastern Casper is about 4 miles from the campground. We camped at River's Edge RV & Cabins Resort in a Motorhome.
