Bulldog Campground, Sturgis, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly staff. Large, open campsites. Covered pavilion area, kitchen area and laundry. There are a couple shower houses located throughout the campground. Sites are grassy and pretty level. All dirt roads, so it is very dusty. There aren't a lot of frills here, but it's not a deal breaker as the staff is so gracious and friendly. In addition, with so much to do in the Black Hills, you aren't spending much time at the campground. We camped at Bulldog Campground in a Motorhome.

Rush-No-More RV Park & Campground, Sturgis, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $120.00
Overall Rating:

Came for the Sturgis motorcycle rally. Booked in Dec 2014, however campground owner called us a few weeks before our trip to let us know there was a problem with the size of our rig/overbooking situation. We were very clear as to how large our coach was when we made the reservation and he didn't indicate at that time that there would be a problem. The owner asked if we could be flexible with our dates and come several days sooner and then he would be able to accomodate us for our reservation. We were able to do this, however the owner informed us we could only stay for 8 nights instead of the 10 we had booked and paid for and he refused to refund us the two nights. He also refused to refund us the difference in price between the rally week price and the rest of the year price. In addition, he is very rude and has absolutely no people skills. Instead of politely pointing out his campground rules, he screams them at you and then threatens to throw you out. This man has no business dealing with the public and should put someone else in charge of running his campground. It's very clear that he's all about the immediate dollar and has no concern for repeat business. He also operates his campground much like a dictatorship and is demeaning to his staff in front of paying guests. There are plenty of other campgrounds in the area that would be more than happy and appreciative of receiving your business. Campsites are graveled, not level and very cramped. Free WIFI is advertised, but we could never get it to work. Campground does offer a small pool and hot tub, although it wasn't very hot. There are several shower houses, a laundry and pavilion area. There is nice grass, a few trees and picnic tables at each site. The main road in is paved, but remaining campground roads are gravel. Overall, it's a decent campground but the rudeness and shafting just can't be overlooked. I would NEVER stay here again. We camped at Rush-No-More RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
