Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino), Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Well run and cared for. Gravel parking but grass on both sides of coach. Nice shade tree. They have grown some since our past stay 3-4 years ago. Take extra sewer hose, it was 30+ feet from my hookup to their connection. Camper on the driver side has been there for over 5 years and was very nice. Keeps his space orderly. Space on other side had grandkids running all over our space interrupting our outdoor time. Little dog kept getting away and bothering us and our dog. I finally went over and spoke to them which put it to a stop. However later as their 5 cars and families began to arrive, unknown until the next morning they came and helped themselves to our picnic table and did not ask or return it. I did complain to the manager who said she would talk to them. I heard from other long termers that family is not liked by Mgt.....but they don't seem to do anything about it. Overall we like the park and will stay again without doubt or concern...it's that nice. We camped at Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino) in a Motorhome.

Twin Lakes RV Resort, Bridgeport, California

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic resort. Small with additional cabins which are rustic. Great green open areas. Lots of deer. Only 5 premium spots for trailers/rv's but they are building 10 pull thru spaces with full hookups 50 amp etc. There are two wagon wheel style areas with maybe 10 each full hook up spots but not sure if the are 50 amp or just 30 amp. They have rental fishing boats, SUP and kayaks. Good store, has most everything you forgot. They make great pizza too. As good as you will find anywhere. We camped at Twin Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Paradise Shores RV Park, Bridgeport, California

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

What a pleasant surprise.. we were in #24 on lower level with direct view of Bridgeport Reservoir. Very clean and well cared for. Not a big park. They offer a pair of SUP boards, pair of kayaks, first come. No fire pits but can use gas ones. 3 miles to. Ridge port. Note: Bring all your supplies as there is no grocery store in Bridgeport. Well there is a claim to one but it has very little and is pricey! Chips, beer and soda....that's about it. We camped at Paradise Shores RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Part of a casino grouping. Good general store with fresh product and full service gas station. Propane. Casino has full gaming plus coffee shop and steak house. Food was very good and pricing very acceptable. Park sites were not super level but workable. Full gravel, picnic table. No fire pits. Very quiet given its next to highway 395. We would stay there again for sure. We camped at Topaz Lodge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort, Plymouth, California

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Check in very efficient. We did not even need to get out of the coach as someone was waiting for arrivals and came to the drivers side with our space assignment and other helpful information. We were in #100 backing up to open farm land. Blacktop pad and some grass. Appreciated the all black top as there is a lot of dirt areas or ones which are thin on grass. They need to water the grass more as its only the beginning of summer. Be watchful of low hanging branches both in the spaces and along the road way. You will clear them but they brush all along your roof. They need to trim them up 2-3 ft and along the sides. The good side is almost every space is shaded, nicely shaded. Pond is green even though it is not stagnant. Water fountain keeps it aerated. Our space had a poor/almost totally out 50 Amp service. I went back to the office at 6PM and within 15 minutes a maintenance man came, checked things out, went and retrieved parts and fixed. All in 40 minutes time. Much appreciated as temp was 98-102 at 5:30 when we arrived. Park has a nice pool areas and a restaurant on site. We did not eat there but have in the past. We did not use WiFi but Verizon worked well. We would stay here again. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Napa Valley Expo RV Park, Napa, California

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Very small park. I mean really small. 16 spots but nicely spaced apart, clean, lots of grass. Close to great eating and shopping in old town plus wine tasting etc. And the Napa Wine Train... We were there for Thanksgiving with family in the area but will for sure go back in the spring time or fall. Park manager says make reservations far in advance. They are popular and small......small in all caps would be appropriate. We camped at Napa Valley Expo RV Park in a Motorhome.

Betabel RV Park, San Juan Bautista, California

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Well maintained even though it's probably 90% full timers. All seem to keep sites clean and neat. Just means there are probably only 20 nightly sites out of 164. But if your looking for a safe place on a long road trip pretty much out in nowhere, stop here. Betabel means beet in Spanish. Dole Co owned most of the land in the area a grew sugar beets. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Golden Rule RV Park, Willits, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Entrance on HWY 101 on a long down/up hill run. If coming down, slow big time. Its well marked and very roomy to enter. Just take it slow. The paved road is probably a mile or more down to the valley floor where the park is. Its part of a mobile home park so nice and clean but when you get to the camp sites its all dirt and gravel. We were in #35 which is on the end by the pool. Good spot, pull thru. Lots of shade. This park was the home of Seabiscuit, a famous race horse of the 30's and 40's and the biggest money winner of the time who is buried here. Did a match race against War Admiral in 1938. Check it out on YouTube. A movie was made a few years back also. Nice park, quiet, pretty clean, lots of wildlife, good cell service. Some long termers but neat and orderly. We camped at Golden Rule RV Park in a Motorhome.

Heceta Beach RV Park, Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The management of this park is not very helpful or friendly. We booked two nights but had to change to one night. We called them two days in advance. The park owner charged us for both nights saying it is policy when you cancel. Yes, we were aware of the cancellation policy. We did not consider it a cancellation, rather a change. When we arrived we were asked if we had Good Sam. Yes, lifetime. We had to prove it by showing a card. Showed them the road service card but that was not acceptable. Your Road Service card and membership number are the same. So the staff went on GS website and verified. In over 20 years and hundreds of resorts and parks have never been ask to 'prove it'. The power grid is bad at times and damaged some of our equipment. I talked to the owner who blamed it on the power company. Caused our system to shut down. Burnt our power cord at the park pole. Had to replace it. Also damaged appliances inside the coach. We have a surge protector which helped but still had damage. It is clear the parks grid system is old and in need of repairs. There are considerable trees, branches and low bushes, so isles and turns are dangerously tight. Be sure to look both up and down for things that will damage your rig. Had a picnic table that was unusable and a fire ring also not usable. We would not stay here again. We camped at Heceta Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beachfront RV Park, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Looking out at the ocean, fantastic. You are on sand for parking and such but they have paved the patio pads and have a table too. But you are at the beach. Not many places in CA or OR that you get this close to it at $38. Across the street between you and the ocean is general day use parking but it was not real busy in Sept. We were fine with it. Fun to watch the fishing boats come and go and there is a fog horn and bell that you hear at night. They give you a fire pit if you ask. We did and that was fun too. They sell wood cheap. Sandy/rocky beach but the sand is a dark color and not too appealing but the waves, really good. Hook ups good, power good, sewer line a little deep down but it works. There is a little fence between spaces. We would go back for sure.. BTW, 5th wheels like to pull in so the back is facing the ocean. It makes for a shared site to some degree. We had neighbors for only one night on both sides. The rest of the time both sides were open.. We camped at Beachfront RV Park in a Motorhome.

Winchester Bay RV Resort, Winchester Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

A fantastic setting of the harbor, lots of view, grass. Paved pads, newer hookups well maintained as best as we could tell. Will go back again. The office staff are less than friendly. We booked more than 6 months in advance but still were told we would have to move, one night in one space, one night in another. Told to call as often as wanted to see about getting two nights in one space. Every time we called which was 2-3 times a week, we would ask if any cancellations and without a moments hesitation, no.. Every time, no... Including when we checked in we asked, and without looking up, said "NO". Others staying there said the experienced the same attitude. Less than pleasant. However, we will stay again and book even further in advance next time. There are people who come for months at a time so there are probably few cancellations. But it could be handled better and more politely. We camped at Winchester Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $87.00
Overall Rating:

Wow... Right on the ocean. Could hardly get closer. Loved it so much stayed an extra day. Its a small resort, but worth every penny. Yachats is 6 miles north and has a couple very nice restaurants. Ona is one we enjoyed. Regardless of previous bad reviews, you should go here. Hosts are very nice, very helpful, and extremely helpful. We had a water system problem which a UPS package needed to be delivered. It came, they called us immediately and even allowed me to replace the water manifold though the rules say no repairs. We had booked two days but wanted to stay a third. No space. On the morning we were to leave, around 9 AM the host came to our site to say someone had cancelled and did we want to take it.. E YES for sure we will stay.. Bad news.......salt water rusts anything and everything. We camped at Sea Perch RV Resort in a Motorhome.
