Ozark Country Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

This was my second stay here. I had stayed for a few days in 2014. This time I stayed for two months. So I was subject to an electric charge which turned out to be $.22/kWh. Outrageous! They claim it was passed through from the electric company yet another campground not far from Branson was charging $.12/kWh only after the third month!

The second issue that became a real drag was barking dogs in the neighborhoods on both sides of the property. Multiple calls to the Sheriff and Animal Control brought some relief but not an elimination of the issue. Taney County does not have a Nuisance Dog ordinance.

If you are only there for a few days and gone to town most of the day, this will NOT be an issue for you. But if you stay at the park longer term and try to keep windows and doors open to keep the outrageous electric bill down, Good Luck!

The only other inside the park issue I had was ants and they sprayed multiple times and finally brought in a Professional. That stopped new infiltrations but I am still killing survivors from the first attacks.

The managers do what they can to try to accommodate campers.

While this is not a resort, it is not a slum either. For short term stays it works just fine.

Now this all being said, this park is by far the cheapest in the immediate Branson area. Yet still more expensive because it is near Branson. We camped at Ozark Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Little Turtle RV & Storage, Eufaula, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Too late I remembered why I passed this place by last year. Way too much noise from 69, and a train track close enough to disturb the silence.

Inside the park, I have been listening to car alarms, barking dogs, screaming kids, stereos and so far four fools blasting past my rig exiting the park.

The roads were one continuous pothole. The sites were concrete, the utilities were positioned just fine and the cable was horrible. 18 lousy channels. The dump has a swimming pool and a meeting room.

One more thing, there's a bar right next to this dump that made noise until 2AM.

This morning while trying to unhook, I stepped in dog crap. We camped at Little Turtle RV & Storage in a Motorhome.

Green Acres RV Park, Savannah, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Like others, I stayed here to be near Shiloh, Corinth and other local things.

My site was cramped and blocked with overflow vehicles from adjoining sites until I complained. They removed the vehicles but made me feel like I was out of line for complaining.

My site was also not level and they had to dig up the sewer while I was there.

The non-stop road noise was annoying, as was the noise of a resident with a pickup truck with a glass pack muffler the entire month. The WIFI was marginal to pathetic most of the month. I finally got 4 days of decent speed and signal after hearing 100 excuses.

Like many parks their price is out of line for what little they offer. At departure there was an overcharge on the electric that had to be resolved. That took almost 45 minutes. We camped at Green Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Shiloh, Corinth are both within day trip distance. If you luck out, you might catch a Paddleboat docking near the town park. I did. If you are a photographer, this area is a gem.

I-30 Travel Park, Benton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This place is a parking lot that sits right on the I-30 Feeder Road.

The spot is not level and the electric box is older. When I plugged in, I got a polarity error on my Surge initially, then it cleared. So far it hasn't come back. Two holes where old sewer connects used to come up.

This is an overpriced field. One of the few choices near Little Rock.

Motel 6 is the same price. Choose it instead. We camped at I-30 Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Big Buck Resort, Hornsby, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed two days at this Park using a Passport Rate.

I asked to be close to WiFi, so they stuck me in an area that had not been mowed or maintained for weeks. I checked the high grass for snakes.

I got PBS from Mississippi over the air, nothing else would stay tuned. The WIFI was 1 bar and faded around 8PM.

I made the mistake of eating some Asian Chicken Nuggets at their restaurant. They seemed tasty. They gave me diarrhea. I happened to glance in their kitchen as I was paying my bill. Fryer area was disgusting. I turned them into the state health department. That was before I got sick. We camped at Big Buck Resort in a Motorhome.

North Fork Resort, Front Royal, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

There needs to be an addition in the RV Club books that this is a members only park and non-members are put in a section C slum. A long walk to all the amenities.

No cable, WIFI took three tries to connect. RR Tracks nearbye. I hope they are not active.

Took 15 minutes to register thanks to waiting for the snotty gate guard to let members in and out.

Was going to stay three days. One will be enough. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Motorhome.

Misty Mountain Camp Resort, Greenwood, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

While this park has full amenities they are all in the lower section.

At $55 a night.

I took an electric and water only site in their upper section.

I had to pull in to a site sloping down hill, and could barely hookup to electric. I did not have enough hose to reach the water.

I can't wait to get out of Virginia. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Shallow Creek Golf & RV Resort, Gladewater, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

I arrived late so I used the night check-in system. Filled out a simple piece of paper gave them my credit card number and parked.

My pad was perfectly level, one of the few I have had in 15 months. All hookups were in good shape. I did not get my Passport America discount because they require reservations for that.

WiFi worked, the cable worked, I heard no road or park noise. nice and quiet! We camped at Shallow Creek Golf & RV Resort in a Motorhome.
