Ocean Grove RV Resort, St Augustine Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

SOOOO crowded! Lots of park models that are old and not well maintained. The sites were VERY small, and besides the showers and the pool up near the busy road, there was only ONE small shower/restroom facility for all of the sites. To get to the beach, you had to cross a VERY busy road and walk a couple blocks. The maintenance guy there had a hard time interpreting what the office or the customer asked of him. We camped at Ocean Grove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground), St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

The ONLY reason that I didn't give this park a solid "10" was because our site was gravel, with a large concrete patio. We usually like ALL concrete or paver, but the site was very level and had a lovely view! The only other issue, which isn't the park's fault, is that we had full afternoon sun. However, on cooler days, it felt wonderful to sit on the patio with our back to the sun. The shower building in the "new oasis section" is lovely, so we used those showers as opposed to the older, but still clean, ones near us. The ladies at the front desk were always very busy, but never too busy to help you or answer your questions when you stopped in. We loved the shuttle that picked up right at the campground, and gave us three days for the price of one on their trolley service around downtown ST. Augustine. The traffic was heavy for the most part, and congested as you approached the beach, but a wide range of shopping was within 2 to 10 miles of the park. We checked out other RV parks nearer the beach, but none had the cleanliness and spaciousness of this park. I'd definitely return, but ask to be located in the new Oasis section where it's all paver and asphalt. Be sure to purchase the trolley tickets at the front desk at the RV park, as you receive 3 days for the price of 1 day there. The shuttle picks up at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Many days, we had the 9:00 a.m. shuttle to ourselves, so he dropped us right off at our first stop instead of the trolley transfer at stop #1. Very convenient!!! We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Everglades Isle, Everglades City, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is easily the most luxurious RV Resort we've ever stayed at, and I would have rated it a TEN across the board except for the "service", or lack thereof. Most of the sites are along the river and are "pull in", which is wonderful.....but they're tight for such expensive sites, compared to other "owner" resorts we've stayed at. The clubhouse and restrooms/showers are LOVELY, but usually not even open until 9:00 a.m., unless the cleaning person lets you in! The other "renters", such as ourselves, are extremely friendly, but the "owners" will not even return a wave or a quick "hello". I don't see much of them during the day, but they seem to congregate around the bar in the clubhouse at night, totally excluding anyone else. Such a cold, cold atmosphere. That, along with the HUGE population of mosquitos, led to me to the lower review. We will not return. I don't believe the "owners" need any of our rent money. We camped at Everglades Isle in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are a couple local seafood "restaurants", if you can call them that, with picnic tables and open air seating. The food is fresh, right off the boat, but expensive considering the seating conditions. We had to get papertowel, wet it, and wipe down a table to sit at. Ewwww!!!

Belle Parc RV Resort, Brooksville, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a "diamond in the rough" and COULD be an awesome resort....except for these issues: 1) There are only TWO lady's toilets and TWO men's toilets (not "buildings", but TOILETS!) for the almost 300 sites! There are only THREE showers with LITTLE water pressure, and one has a frosted glass door that is CLEARLY see-through for any passer-by on the sidewalk. Yikes! 2) The camping guests are VERY friendly and helpful, but the workers are disgruntled and rude, especially the heavy smoking man on the golf cart with the green "Tilley" hat! 3) The new concrete pads are GREAT, except that when the concrete was poured, no attention to LEVEL was taken!! You see motorhomes all over with boards and blocks of wood under them because otherwise their wheels would be off the ground! They all seem to slope toward the "lake" or swamp, both sideways and front to back. 4) The cancellation and early departure policies are very strict and inflexible, even in the case of an emergency. Once they have your money, it's "too bad, so sad". In all our years of camping, we've never come across a policy quite like this!! 5) The town of Brooksville is your typical small town and offers little in terms of local eateries, pubs, etc. 6) They say they are "gated", but the gate has been broken, and they have no plan in site to repair it. Overall, we felt this campground or "resort" was extremely overpriced for it's location and conditions. I believe they sunk a lot of money into the renovations and are trying to recoup quickly. We will not return next season. We camped at Belle Parc RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rancho Sedona RV Park, Sedona, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

VERY clean park.....meticulously maintained! Even the foliage around the perimeters and trees were weeded and trimmed. Our site was lovely, as it backed up to Oak Creek. The site was long and dry....all gravel. We liked being able to walk to UPtown Sedona!! It was a little hilly....but a nice walk. The campground was quiet, and the restrooms, albeit rustic and a little old, were very clean. Coyotes roamed freely in the evenings at dusk. We camped at Rancho Sedona RV Park in a Motorhome.

Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort (55+ park), Casa Grande, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

LOVED this park! We usually don't like parks where they also have mobile homes.....but here, they kept the RV's a little separate. There are soooo many activities! And the people are sooooo friendly!!! LOVED the gals at the service desk, too! They were always cheerful and helpful, bending over backwards to find answers for you. We hope to return soon! Tucson / Lazydays KOA, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

VERY nice KOA! We usually avoid the KOA's, as we find them old, crowded and not updated. But this one is a beauty......with lovely, nicely landscaped sites of all types. Our site had a grapefruit tree and grass for the dogs, which is a nice thing in Arizona! The people were very friendly, and the middle-aged lady behind the desk in the office was so very gracious!! Whenever possible, I tried to come during her hours if I had a question, as the "younger gals" weren't as gracious and only seemed to be interested in flirting with some of the young guys. LOL! The restrooms and showers were always clean. The laundry was a bit overpriced, but they did allow you to hang your clothing out behind your motorhome to dry it. They also allowed you to wash your vehicles, including your motorhome. The only downside to this lovely park was the surrounding area, which was VERY sketchy! We felt perfectly save at night, but when leaving the park......we weren't too sure. LOL! Yes, there were some train whistles and planes overhead......but nothing that bothered us. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

Wells Fargo RV Park, Tombstone, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We spent three nights here on our way to Arizona. This park is VERY old and needs major updating!! The RV's are packed in tightly, so you can't use your awning and you can BARELY get your slides out! We knew what we were getting, but chose this park for it's convenient location....which was perfect! It's right downtown, so you can walk to all the attractions and bars/restaurants. If it wasn't for the location, I would have rated this park a #2. LOL! There are many OLD RV's that haven't moved in some time. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. This park is perfect for a night or two if you just want to see the local sights. We camped at Wells Fargo RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Colorado City State Park, Colorado City, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this park! We spent one night here on our way from Michigan to Arizona. It was a cold night, but the restroom was heated, and the shower, albeit rustic, was clean and spacious. We loved the scenery and listening to the coyotes at night. We would have loved spending another night or two here! It was a few miles off the freeway, but the roads were paved and in good condition. All the interior roads were asphalt, and our site was a very large pull-through. We camped at Lake Colorado City State Park in a Motorhome.

Mount Pleasant KOA, Mt. Pleasant, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here overnight during a rain storm. The roads were VERY tight for big rigs, muddy and messy! While the restrooms were clean, they were very outdated and old. One of the sinks actually rusted right through and needs to be replaced. I thought that for the money spent per night, they could update the restrooms. The manager/owners were disgruntled and unfriendly. I would use this as a last resort for an overnight stop. We camped at Mount Pleasant KOA in a Motorhome.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were provided with a pull through long enough for our 40' motorhome and towed vehicle, but the nose of our motorhome was within 2" on the gravel road in front of us......so when all the oil workers left for work at 5:00 am and returned at 4:00 pm, the dust ROLLED!! Our patio was broken and chipped....a real trip hazard for an elderly lady like myself. The restroom, although dark and very basic, was clean. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Travelers World RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We spent five nights here while visiting the Riverwalk, Missions and the Alamo. The site was nice and long for our motorhome and towed vehicle, and the grass and trees were pretty.......but the surrounding area outside the fence was very SHADY! We heard constant sirens during the night, and we were warned to "be sure to keep things locked up, especially bikes", as some of the neighbors had theirs stolen. The managers/owners and office help were not friendly or helpful, and didn't seem to want to return a smile. LOL! The bathrooms and showers were cleaned once a day, but had a lot of traffic.....and it showed. The exhaust fans didn't seem to work well, so you took a "sauna" instead of a shower. LOL! Overall, the grounds were very well kept and it was a convenient place in which to stay to see the Riverwalk and surrounding area since the bus stops were right at the entrance. We camped at Travelers World RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for one night enroute to Texas. Sites are VERY, VERY close together and one the short side for a 40' motorhome towing a vehicle. The restrooms were not ventilated well, and were not the cleanest. All in all, an OK stay for one night, as it was easy on, easy off the freeway. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Little Vineyard RV Park & Resort, Deming, New Mexico

We stayed here on our way through New Mexico for two nights. The RV sites are all small gravel, but roadways are wide and easy to maneuver a big rig towing. This is a VERY basic campground, but the Desk person was extremely friendly and helpful, and the restrooms and showers, although older and basic, were very clean and in good working order. It's good for an overnight stop. We camped at Little Vineyard RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.
