Salt Lake City KOA, Salt Lake City, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful KOA park right in the city. Lots of trees and grass. Lovely in spring when we were there! Location was perfect and we took a city tour which picks you up here. Very convenient. They even let you have a late check out for $5 extra which allowed us to take the tour and then leave. Since it is KOA it costs more because of the extra amenities (which we didn't use). Office staff was very helpful and even booked our tour for us. Only negative was that site wasn't really long enough to keep car hooked up. Great water pressure, wifi, and CATV. There is even a night watchman for security. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Junction West RV Park, Grand Junction, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great park for overnight or longer. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a store and a laundry as well as playground. We only stayed overnight but would do so again. It wasn't too far from interstate. Park is very clean and all hookups were convenient as well as CATV. Gravel was the nice large gravel which helps keep motorhome cleaner!! We camped at Junction West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Elko RV Park At Ryndon, Elko, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

OK stop for overnighter. It is close to I-80 and has nice long pull throughs. No problems with hook-ups. Park is mostly full timers so it is not scenic, but it was quiet. We camped at Elko RV Park At Ryndon in a Motorhome.

Desert Rose RV Park, Fernley, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This was a lovely park with trees, grass and a wall separating it from the highway. This is nice in the desert area of Nevada! We used it for an overnighter and it was fine. There is a rec room and laundry available, but we didn't use either. The pads are concrete but not long. It was just long enough to leave car attached if you didn't want to hook up sewer. Can't have both unless you have a very long sewer connection! Staff was quite helpful and friendly. CATV didn't work with our RV; they said we had the wrong cable. Wifi was weak. We camped at Desert Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Yosemite Pines RV Resort & Family Lodging, Groveland, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

This park is about 22 miles from entrance to Yosemite NP. It was a great base for our visit there and as it turned out, a good spot to extend our stay while we got our motorhome repaired. The girls in the office were so helpful with our changes in schedule and made our time very pleasant. If you have a motorhome make sure to get a spot that is large enough. Our first one was a back-in that just wasn't big enough. Thankfully, they had a pull through that was open. Sites are narrow and on a hillside so there is very little space outside the motorhome--just wide enough for a picnic table. Fire ring was there but quite close to side of RV. Hookups were good despite the tall grass and steep hillside. Make sure to follow campground driving directions!! It's a steep, curvy, 5+ miles up the mountain to Groveland. Wifi worked okay once you set up your account. There was no CATV and no over the air TV. Nice laundromat was available. Pool and deli were not open yet--too early in the season. We camped at Yosemite Pines RV Resort & Family Lodging in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Know that Yosemite valley is over an hour drive. We went during the week in May and that was doable. Saturday was crazy busy there and parking is a nightmare. I would recommend taking the public transportation YARTS that has a bus stop right outside the campground. Very convenient.

Sequoia RV Park, Dunlap, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed out stay here although it was a little confusing on arrival. This is an old mobile home park ow being used as an RV park. Because of this, the hookups are not close to where RV hookups are. Sewer hookup was older style. Once we learned we could drive on the grass in any direction (not limited to backing in on the old, asphalt pads) and set up however best suited us, everything worked out fine! Manager was quite helpful once we located her trailer. The ground is quite uneven so beware. After all that, we ended up loving our stay here. Sites are spacious and grassy. No Wifi or TV, but that led to nice relaxing times outdoors! There is a nice laundry (2 washers $1.75) (2 dryers $1.50). This park is closest to north entrance of Sequoia NP and Kings Canyon NP. We camped at Sequoia RV Park in a Motorhome.

Love, love, loved the sequoia groves! Kings Canyon has become one of our favorite national parks. We drove to the end and stopped to see the waterfalls which were easy hikes from the road. Great for us since my husband cannot walk far.

Butch Cassidy RV Park and Campground, Salina, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for overnight (or longer). Nice pull thru long enough to keep toad hooked up and still get hookups easily. Hookups are on drivers side. Great water pressure! Don't know what previous reviewer had problem with. Some full timers but everyone was quiet and area is neat and clean. Lovely area for playground and tent sites. Wonderful laundry. Washers $1.50, dryers .25 for 7.5 minutes. Rec room. They even have a pool opening on June. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Butch Cassidy RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

29 Palms Golf Resort, Twentynine Palms, California

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed 2 nights but would stay here again if in the area. Wifi is best near clubhouse and office. Trash is picked up daily; all you do is put the trash bag in front of site by 9 AM. The owners were nice and when there was a mistake with our assigned site he came quickly and resolved the problem even though it was after hours. There was concrete pad for parking your car next to the motorhome. There are other amenities at the RV park but we did not use any except the laundry facilities. Propane is available. Just know it's quite a mountainous drive to reach this area--up and down. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Sweetwater Summit Regional Park, Bonita, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We love finding regional parks in California. They are a great value and well maintained. Very nice staff. We were high up overlooking the valley and thoroughly enjoyed our 6 day stay here while we toured the San Diego area. It is easy to get to, just a few miles off the freeway. Great paved pads with full hook up. We camped at Sweetwater Summit Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We loved the San Diego Safari Park and the Maritime Museum (with its swift boat cruise). Other favorites were the Old Town Trolley tour, Hornblower cruise, and the Air and Space Museum. So much to see and do! I was a little disappointed in the kayaking at LaJolla. Not as exciting as advertised.

Franklin's Big Country RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

OK overnight spot right off I-20. We were the only overnighter there, with many open spots. The rest were full timers who were quiet. The site was a pull through so we did not have to unhook our car. No picnic tables. There was no one to check you in. Just put your money in drop box. If you have questions you can walk to RV dealer. It is a small dealer and didn't have any parts we needed. We camped at Franklin's Big Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Black Bart's RV Park, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is convenient and right off I-40. We enjoyed out stay here and have no complaints. Park is full time around the edges and transients in the center. Lots of spaces. Space was nice and long for our motorhome and toad. The picnic table was on a concrete pad. Laundry was nice but 2 dryers out of 6 were out of order. $1.25 for washers. No Wifi or cable. My only complaint is I wish there was a privacy fence since out view was the next door truckstop. We camped at Black Bart's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park), Sun Valley, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a new owner since the last time we were there and things are not as nice. First off, even though he had taken my credit card to hold my reservation for a 50A site, he had given it away. We ended up with a small pull through 30A site which he finally agreed to charge $25 instead of $30 for a 50A. The electric hookup was hookup was in bad shape and needing repair. There is no wifi. On the positive side, the owner was trying to be helpful and the laundry was convenient. Definitely no more than an overnighter unless you get one of the 50A pull thrus in the front. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Wonderful find in Riverside! Beautiful park. Most sites are large and have lovely green grass. Wonderful family camping with extras available for kids. Very helpful staff. Wifi was weak but worked at times. Our site was in area being developed so there was no grass yet. It was pull in, not pull through, but it was fine for us!
