Lakeshore RV Resort & Campground, Oelwein, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is supposed to have activities for the kids to do and once again they were cancelled once we arrived. There is a sand pit for volley ball, however the net is gone, the tether ball was missing, and the 4 baskets for Frisbee golf were also gone. All things that I had planned on doing with my children as this is why I pay "resort" prices for this campground. The pontoon for the beach also looked as if something was wrong as it was push to the side of the lake. Very frustrating to bring my family here only to not have anything to do. Sure we can play mini golf, but you can only do that so many times before you can't stand it anymore. If the owner likes you then you are allowed to return for another weekend if not you will not be able to return. I questioned the lack of activities when stated that there would be some and now my family is not allowed to come back because I broke some unwritten rule. Even though the owners break rules all the time by allowing their dog to run off leash. We camped at Lakeshore RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

MorWood Campground and Resort, Hazelton, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has many activities for families and kids. Organized games/crafts on the weekends are a plus. Swimming pool is nice on hot days though it can get a little packed. They have a playground, miniature golf (fee), volley ball, walking/biking trails, creek to fish in, dump station, camp store. Sites are spacious with lots of grassy area in between. We camped at MorWood Campground and Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Independence RV Park, Independence, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are flat, gravel pads with large grassy areas in between. This campground sits right on the main road so it is very easy to find, however the noise from this road can be heard all night long. We camped at Independence RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lakeshore RV Resort & Campground, Oelwein, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground on Labor day weekend, there were many issues. First off we called on Wednesday to get an additional site and were told that they were full. LIES! 5 empty spots. The activity board said that there was going to be things for my children to do all weekend. LIES! Canceled. Then to top it off I am in the bathroom and I hear the new owner yelling at her worker about how she needs to clean and sanitize the bathroom while she is out playing in the golf tournament. She just totally belittled this poor girl! I have camped many a holiday weekends at this campground and this was by far the worst! BRING BACK THE OLD OWNERS! My kids used to have so much fun, they were so excited last year when the fire truck showed up with the stuffed animals. This used to be a fun FAMILY campground, now I'm not sure I will be back. The campsites are very flat, gravel back ins, 50 amp full hook up sites. Not much shade is available in the overnight spots and each site has maybe 10 ft of grass in between sites. This campground has mini golf, volleyball, tetherball, train rides, shuffleboard, swimming beach, canoe, and disc golf all free of charge for guests. We camped at Lakeshore RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.
