Twin Pine RV Park, Slaton, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time we have stayed in this park for an overnight stay while traveling. The park is clean, comfortable, well-maintained, has lots of grass, and level sites. The service and value are excellent. One thing we really appreciate about this RV park is there are three distinct parks, two are for long-term residents, and the one we have stayed in is a park for travelers and short-term stay folks. This is such an excellent idea since the needs of the long-term residents are quite different from the short-term camper. We camped at Twin Pine RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hidden Creek RV Resort, Bryan, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park for our one night stay. It was very clean, had lots of maintained grass, and concrete pads. There was attention to detail in the care and maintenance of the park. The service in the office was excellent and the woman was very polite. There are two reasons I gave this RV park a 9 and not a 10: 1) We felt the nightly rate was a little high for just a basic RV park; 2) The store area is spacious, but the inventory is pretty sparse. We camped at Hidden Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lake Pointe RV Resort, Canyon Lake, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

On the positive, this park has a lovely location near the lake, and the overall atmosphere is nice. However, our stay included many downsides. First, there are deer everywhere. This might seem nice at first, but the park is overrun with deer because they are constantly feeding them to encourage them to be here. This leads to constant begging by the deer hovering around your rig, a sad situation. With the deer, comes piles and piles of deer poop that is not cleaned up. We could not even walk without having to navigate piles of deer poop. Second, within an hour of getting settled in our site, the breaker tripped, and we had no electricity. We called the after hours emergency number and got a recording that said they were not taking calls at this time. Someone finally came to check on us the next day, nearly 24 hours later. My husband and another camper fixed the problem. This park is expensive, and there is no reason it should be. Sites are rock and weeds and very narrow, and there are very few amenities. The pool and kids playground are nice, but that's it. Their cancellation policy is terrible. We could not stay in April for our initial reservation because I had knee surgery. I tried to cancel our reservation two weeks ahead of time, and all they offered was a credit to stay at a later date. Third, the grounds are not cleaned or maintained well. What could be a beautiful park is instead dead grass, stickers, and animal poop (lots of dog poop as well because it appears that people don't clean up after their dogs, and clearly this rule is not enforced). Fourth, this park seems to have mostly permanent residents with lots and lots of "stuff" around their rigs. We camped at Lake Pointe RV Resort in a Motorhome.

American RV Park & Sales, Corsicana, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very quiet and comfortable park for one night. The grass at our site was lovely; our little dogs loved it. We had some shade. The park was clean and well-maintained. Our site was long enough for our motorhome and tow car but very narrow. We have a small motorhome, and we were sandwiched between two large rigs. We camped at American RV Park & Sales in a Motorhome.

Route 66 RV Park, Elk City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The service was excellent. People we dealt with were so nice and accommodating. Our site was grassy and shaded, which we loved. It was quiet and good for a one night stay. This park could be a 10 with a little more attention to detail. However, we would definitely stay here again due to comfort and service! We camped at Route 66 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Happy Trails RV Park LLC, Moriarty, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The owner/manager was incredibly nice and service oriented. The park was quiet and okay for a one-night stay. Lots of dirt, but you can tell the owner is trying to maintain the park. The grass was dead, and there were very few trees - not sure if there are water limitations in the area. We prefer grass and shade when we camp. Appreciate the convenience of location of the park and the outstanding service by the owner! We camped at Happy Trails RV Park LLC in a Motorhome.

Clean, comfortable, and modern park. Lots of sites, but they are spaced apart nicely. They had several dog parks, and these had really nice, healthy grass and good space. We had a quiet and pleasant stay here. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Twin Pine RV Park, Slaton, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great place to stay after a long day of travel. The park is simple and basic, but it is very clean and comfortable. There is a nice small patch of grass next to most of the sites and additional grassy areas. These were nice for our little dogs. I read comments from other reviewers who said the grass had stickers and burrs in it, but I believe the owners are addressing this because the grass was healthy, and we saw very few if any burrs and stickers. The park was easy to locate and right near the interstate yet there was a buffer road so we heard very little interstate noise. Our breaker quit working, and the people working were so responsive and fixed it right away. The biggest thing that I liked about the park is it was very quiet. We camped at Twin Pine RV Park in a Motorhome.

Durango RV Resort, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here three times on our way up or down Interstate 5. It is a very pleasant and clean RV park and a nice respite from being on the road. This last stay we noticed that some of the grass areas were brown and there was not quite the attention to detail we have seen in the past. Also, the people who work in the office and answer the phone need to improve their customer service. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Valencia Travel Village, Castaic, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Our stay was pleasant and a nice rest after being on the road all day. The lady in the office who checked us in was exceptionally nice and friendly. The park is good for families with children. For my husband and me it was a bit packed in. Spaces were close together and not very long. However, it was very quiet. The park has a lot of full time residents. The park could be nicer if there was more attention to detail. Our site had trash on the ground and many cigarette butts that we needed to clean up to set up our campsite. We camped at Valencia Travel Village in a Motorhome.

Rising River RV Park, Roseburg, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We had a nice site close to the river. This was lovely. The owner is exceptionally nice and accommodating. The maintenance man who takes care of the park is one of the most pleasant and hard working we have ever encountered. It is apparent there is a lot of effort being put into maintaining the park and providing improvements. All this being said, we would not come back. The park is made up of mostly full time residents. Rigs are old with a fair amount of junk on the outside of their rigs. We were near the trash bin, and there were many residents who pulled up in their vehicles to unload their trash bags into the dumpster throughout the day. Additionally, the sites are quite close together. We camped at Rising River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Railside RV Ranch, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

The park is dirt, rock, and weeds. It was very uncomfortable to sit outside or walk our dogs. The park seems to be better suited for people who need a parking spot for sight seeing. The service was good, and an attraction for others is the free continental breakfast. It was impressive how quiet the park was at night. There are not a lot of good RV park options in Williams and since this was was packed everyday, people seem to enjoy Railside. We would appreciate some money being put into improvements such as more trees for shade, cement slabs, and some landscaping. We camped at Railside RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Westwind RV and Golf Resort, Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

It is hard to write a review for our one night stay at Westwind. We have stayed there once before, and our stay was good. This stay was a nightmare! For this stay, I made a reservation ahead of time. I called the day before we were to arrive to let them know that due to the heatwave we would be arriving after 7:30pm since we would be driving through the desert with our small dogs. I was recovering from surgery, and we had very little fresh water in our small RV since we were expecting full hook ups. We arrived at 8:30pm. As instructed ahead of time, since the office was closed, I used the external phone to call the person in charge for the night to be escorted to our site. The man who answered the phone was incredibly rude and refused to escort us to our site since it was after dark. I pleaded with him to escort us, and he yelled at me and said we were supposed to arrive at 7:30pm. I told him I knew where our site was, and we could park ourselves. He again yelled at me and told me we couldn't do that. When I asked what we were supposed to do, he told me we could stay in the parking lot. Our night was miserable with little to no water, record breaking heat, and our generator running all night to keep us cool. Needless to say, we got very little sleep. It was the worst night we have ever had in our RV. This was on a Friday. On Monday, I called and spoke with the manager. She was very nice and extremely apologetic about what happened. She said that it should never have happened, and she was very upset. She mailed us a full refund a few weeks later. We camped at Westwind RV and Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Blue Water Resort, Garden City, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We had a very nice site in a quiet area with a lot of grass. The lake is beautiful and our site was a short walk to the lake. The downside to this park is that they do not enforce the rules. There were many dogs off leash, sites were overloaded with tents, rigs, with large groups staying in one site. Check out time is 11:00, yet we saw people lingering and checking out as late as 3:00pm. We arrived the weekend after Labor Day. The park, especially close to the lake, was jam packed. We were looking forward to Sunday noon to a quieter setting. This did not happen until around 3:00. Since it was after Labor Day, the store across the street was closed for the season, and the resort does not have any items for sale at all, which seemed odd since they are supposed to be a resort. I walked 4 miles one way to a store because we needed milk. All this being said, we would return to this resort on a weekday to give them another try even though they are a private resort and there are limited times folks like us who are not members can visit. We camped at Blue Water Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was a nice surprise at the end of our long trip. I had read the other reviews and was concerned about staying here with our three little dachshunds. However, the lady who escorted us to our site was the nicest we have encountered in our years of camping. She assured us that we could take our dogs anywhere in the park that we wanted. Our overnight stay at this park was very pleasant. The park was pretty empty due to the time of the year I think. We enjoyed the solitude and appreciated the nice concrete slab at our site and the lovely tree right next to it. The park is well-maintained and great for long and short stays! We camped at Westwind RV and Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
