River Plantation RV Park, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Big park on the river. Close to Pigeon Forge but not so close you get blocked in from traffic. We stay here often as it's sites are nice size, location to all the attractions, friendly people, nice pool and nice dog parks. Gatlinburg is just a short 10 mile drive from here. We camped at River Plantation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Be careful with your GPS, they tend to do funny things in this area. Coming from I 40 stay on Parkway and just past light 14.5 will be the entrance to the campground.

Downtown Riverside RV Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fenced area near the river just off I 30. The gate closes at 5:00 PM. The pads are level and cement but it is fine gravel and sand around them. There is a grassy area to sit and watch the river or to walk your dog. We stopped for an overnight stay and was on the road early the next day. We camped at Downtown Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is a hidden gem. We have stopped here every time we pass through the area. Always friendly and helpful. Wide, spacious concrete sites with great grass around them. Nice little dog runs and plenty of extra space for your fur babies. You can’t go wrong stopping here. We camped at Wanderlust Crossings RV Park in a Motorhome.

Friendly, clean, easy to get to and maneuver. Only stayed overnight but great place to stop if passing through or to stay if you are planning on being in the area for awhile. Overall Rating:

This is a simple park. Nothing fancy but cute and rustic. The sites are pretty private. This park does not have entertainment for kids. It was quiet and everyone we met was very friendly. It a good stop for a couple nights. We camped at Rose Valley RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

All paved roads with spacious sites. Good satellite reception and Verizon service. Nice swimming pool. There is real grass in the dog parks which our mid-west dogs liked. Our specific site needed a bit of TLC on the grass but it was pretty good. Shuttle service to the casino if you want to eat or gamble there. About 10 miles west of Albuquerque. A little confusing navigating your way into the park from I-40 because of all the other casino-related areas and those silly round-abouts so drive slowly and watch your signs carefully. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Western Star RV Ranch, Liberal, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, long wide, gravel spots. It's flat and treeless so no shade, but this is SW Kansas. Very clean and well kept. Verizon signal is decent. Did not use their wifi so cannot comment on that. Good spot for a couple night stay. It is near Liberal, KS so good shopping and restaurants. Satellite friendly. Pet friendly. We stayed in a 45' motorhome. We camped at Western Star RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA , Lawrence, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

GPS had the park about a mile down the rd from where it is located. Once there it was easy to navigate. The office staff was very friendly and guided us to our site. The site we had was large and level. Be aware these sites are shared. This is a bit hard when both sites have dogs. Overall a good place to stop for overnight. We do not have children but there is a large playground and pool. They both appeared to be clean. We did not use their Wi-Fi so cannot comment on this. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

Whistle Stop RV Resort, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly and accommodating. This is a very nice park. Very clean and easy to get around. We had a nice end spot with concrete pad with table, chairs and grill. Nice pool, horseshoe pits, pickle ball, kids playground, dog park, laundry and showers. Also a meeting room available to rent. You can see they are working on improvements and adding more sites. The permanent residents have very neat and tidy sites. Will definitely stay again if in the area. This is not just an overnight spot, you could easily stay and see the sites. We camped at Whistle Stop RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Harris Brake Lakeside Resort , Perryville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Not for us! After misunderstanding the directions on their web site and wandering endlessly for over an hour on Route 300 on a very narrow mountain type road we finally found our way there. I am sure if you like to fish, this is probably and alright place to stay but that is about all that is around. It is a very big lake and was pretty. This place just seemed to be a little hard to find, not counting the misunderstanding to start it off. When we finally see a sign on the road to turn and go 1 mile to resort, there really isn't any other signs. You nearly drive by before you see the place. Then there isn't any sign telling you where to stop, so we proceed to the office, just to be told in a somewhat condescending manner we shouldn't have come down there! PUT UP A SIGN so people know! The site we were given was alright but the only way to access it was driving in the way they did not want you to drive in. By our guess at least 95% of the campground was permanent campers and some were not very neat. I was a bit hesitant to hook up the water due to the fact I had to reach into an enclosed area stuffed with insulation to reach the valve. I could not tell if there was any vermin in there or not. If this campground truly wants to accommodate vacationing campers, it needs some upkeep and a few less permanent campers. If you just want to go to fish, enjoy. We camped at Harris Brake Lakeside Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Majestic Oaks Park, Eldon, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice campground. We stayed near the end of their season and only for two nights. It was a nice size to get around in and easy to follow roads. You do have to take a somewhat winding road to get to the campground and if you want to be close the downtown, it is a bit of a drive but not bad. Management was readily available if needed by phone, office was open but shortened hours. We camped at Majestic Oaks Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp LeConte Luxury Outdoor Resort, Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older campground that the owners have started to re-new. The new part is very nice; they have done a good job starting over. The only issue we had, it is very close quarters, and trying to get around can be a little difficult. If you come in from the side, near the high school, you need to pay close attention to the small sign telling you which direction to turn in the campground depending on the size of camper you have. We did not see the sign and of course turned the wrong way, going towards the office. With our size 5th-wheel there was no choice but to go around and try to cut the corner to get back out, go up the hill to the high school, use their parking lot to turn around and come back and enter the campground the other direction. Our neighbors had just arrived before us and they had the same issue. Another camper came later at night after dark and did the same thing. Another problem, there never seemed to be anyone available that could assist you. The only person in the office was just a young (possible high-school age) person that did not have authority to assist with anything. We were using the washer and dryer, accidentally set the temp incorrectly so opened the door to switch the clothes between the washers and then realized, the washer will not start up again. Asked if it was possible for them to reimburse us ($4.00 per load) so we could finish the wash (we did not have any more quarters) and they could not. Those two things aside, this is a nice, clean campground close to Gatlinburg. If you turn the right direction entering, you will not have any trouble getting into your site. The laundry, bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. We did not use the pool but it appeared to be well kept. You can catch the trolley into Gatlinburg if you choose right from the campground. Kudos for the work they have done so far on this campground. We camped at Camp LeConte Luxury Outdoor Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch closely for sign when entering to turn correct direction for camper size. Large campers do not turn towards the office, they turn towards the back of the campground and go around. Also, the front entrance is only accessible from one direction. There is a boulevard that prevents you from entering if you are coming from Gatlinburg. Take the next turn (school) and there is another entrance. Signs are not very obvious. Enjoy! This is a nice little campground.

Bay Hide Away RV Park & Campground, Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful, little campground. Well kept and the owners are super friendly and helpful. They were always available if anything was needed. Restrooms, showers and laundry is very clean. This campground is nice and quiet and somewhat away from the hustle and bustle but many attractions are very close by. The site are a nice size and the campground is easy to get around in. Seems to be plenty of room to maneuver at all sites. The cost was a little high but we arrived during a special event being held along the gulf coast and all campgrounds were filled to overflowing, so this was to be expected. The Wi-Fi is a little sporadic but not too bad. Also, there is no TV connections if that is important to you. We would stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at Bay Hide Away RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Deerlick Creek COE, Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground. It is quiet and peaceful. Our site was very easy to get into. They are paved and level, they are spread apart so you don't feel crowded at all. They are well shaded. Picnic tables and grill were nice and clean. The area was well mowed for a national park environment. Although there was only one washer and dryer, they were clean and centrally located and ran well. The bathrooms and showers were nice and clean. The employees were very helpful and friendly. They checked with us often to make sure if we were in need of anything. There are trails down to the water. The trip out to the campground was a little winding but nothing that was too sharp for our 5th wheel. Overall the campground is very well kept. Only down side which is to be expected in a park campground is there is no septic hook-ups but there is a dump station that is very easy to get to and use and of course there isn't any tv connections for those who like to have that accommodation. We will definitely return if we are ever in this area again. We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Mark Twain Landing, Monroe City, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very large campground. There are many sites for average size campers and a few sites for the bigger ones that need pull-throughs. We stayed over Labor Day weekend so of course it was full and very busy. You can rent golf carts to get around the park if you choose but to guarantee you have one, reserve it when you make your reservations. The owners were very friendly and readily available even with the huge crowd. All employees were very helpful, also. The only things close to do are fishing and boating, or there is a water park adjacent to the campground. There is only one area to dump your trash and it is clear up by the main office. It would be nice if they had a few areas throughout the campground since it is quite large. Be advised, there is very little shade. Appears that the most shade is where the permanent campers stay. There seems to be quite a few of these. If you are in the area and like to fish, boat, or go to water parks, this is a good place to stay. We camped at Mark Twain Landing in a Fifth Wheel.
