Blueberry Pond Campground, Pownal, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful campground located ~10min from the LL Bean HQ. You have to drive on a dirt road for a wee bit, but as you enter the campground, you feel as if you're driving into a movie! The owners are so very kind and helpful. We camped at Blueberry Pond Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake Champagne Campground, Randolph Center, Vermont

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is lovely. Every site has plenty of space and a wonderful view of the valley or lake. The owners are so kind and work hard to meet every need. (We bought a can of slide lubricant and the nozzle was missing - they had the same can and gave the nozzle to me!) One particular weekend, they hosted a pumpkin carving for all of the guests, complete with hot cider and tasty treats.

One note - the entire area is terraced and a few of the sites require driving on some grass with small grades. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ben and Jerry's is about 30min away - it's a decent tour and of course the ice cream is delicious. However, the true gem in Waterbury is a place called Prohibition Pig. It's a restaurant/brewery with a lively atmosphere, but kid friendly. Order the Mac'n Cheese with bacon - I will never forget this meal.
