Lake Minatare State Recreation Area, Scottsbluff, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice State Park, pleasant staff, nice sites. Water is available at the park and there is a dump station about a mile from the campground. All sites are back in but we pulled in so we were facing the lake. Electric hook up was 50 amp and worked flawlessly. You have to have an extra long cord to pull in. Great for bicycles! Climb the lighthouse, it's 4 flights and a little snug if you are bothered by close places but the view is nice. Late September, Canadian Geese, doves, gulls, and a raptor in the distance. $28.00 includes State Park entrance fee. We camped at Lake Minatare State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Terry Bison Ranch Resort, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We were pulling a closed trailer so we required a 54' spot and they had a number of pull throughs that met the need. This is a great spot if you have kids or grandkids to entertain. They have a playground, horses, camels, ostriches, donkeys, chickens and alpaca that can be seen for free. The train ride to see the Bison is pricey if you have more than one child. There is a campfire every evening. The store is full of buffalo themed, mainly made in China, items, pricey knickknacks, junk food, buffalo meat processed in South Dakota, and a few basic staples. Some alcohol is available. The lots are close together and in spite of driving 2 miles from the exit, the park is right on I-25. Bring earplugs or plan on running the AC even in cool weather. For us, it was a great place to spend the night, do laundry (used my little washer), and chill. Nice walk to check out the critters. I didn't use the bathrooms or laundry but they looked clean. I wouldn't pay the $50/night but for $25, it was fine. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice park, well set up with spacious lots, trees, and FHUs that worked. Friendly and helpful staff who escort you to your site. The pool is small, well maintained and deep enough at 8 feet for exercise. Both cable and Wi-Fi worked. Mature pecan trees offered shade at most spaces. Flickers, wrens, mockingbirds, and finches were easily seen.

We didn't qualify for any discounts so paid $36. We prefer the South Llano River State Park but will definitely stay here again when the park is full. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.

Desert Willow RV Park, Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is a basic full-hookup park, everything worked well including the Wi-Fi and cable TV. Although a small park, there is plenty of room for large rigs. Gravel lot and, like everything in Van Horn, close to I-10. Wear earplugs or run the AC/heater. Escapees and Passport America pay only $13.50, other discounts available. The staff was very kind and helpful. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.
