Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn, Dunedin, Florida
Date of Stay:
October, 2018 -
$76.00
Overall Rating:
Friendly staff, great pool and overall the grounds are well kept. Restrooms and laundry room were spotless. Great location and close to everything. Snow birds were arriving and everyone was very nice and gave great tips on where to eat and visit. Two negatives caused my low rating: terrible mosquito population at dusk and the terrible sewage type smell coming from the stagnate water behind out site. Both made sitting outside not enjoyable. We had a great visit and I would consider staying here again if I could pick my site. We camped at Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn in a Motorhome.
Good eats in downtown Dunedin and a drive to Clearwater Beach is worth it!

Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park), Ocala, Florida
Date of Stay:
October, 2018 -
$24.00
Overall Rating:
We were lucky to find this park on our way to southern Florida. The campground is about a mile from the road so there's no road noise. Sites were mostly level. Everything worked fine and interior roads were easy to navigate. Lots of trees but we were able to get a satellite signal. Good walking and biking trails. Nice quiet place. We would stay here again. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.
Take a canoe or kayak trip at Silver Springs. We saw 5 alligators! The trails in the park are great for walking, okay for biking but they are all dirt/sand trails.

Birmingham South Campground, Pelham, Alabama
Date of Stay:
October, 2018 -
$38.00
Overall Rating:
Interior roads are little tight, but doable. The section where we were was level, had nice grass and open for satellites. There was another section that was more wooded and was occupied by what looked like long term campers. Overall it was fine, but it really could use some TLC to get a higher rating from me. I would stay here again if passing through. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Motorhome.

Eagle's Roost RV Resort, Lake Park, Georgia
Date of Stay:
October, 2018 -
$38.00
Overall Rating:
Got a last minute reservation due to the hurricane..thank you! This place was just okay, and fine for a quick one night stay. The front section was easy in and out pull throughs. There was a back section that had rv's that looked like they've been there for a while. Site was level. We were able to get satellite, but by the luck of our site location. I'd probably stay here again but only for one night. We camped at Eagle's Roost RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Horse Cave KOA, Horse Cave, Kentucky
Date of Stay:
October, 2018 -
$48.00
Overall Rating:
Interior roads are terrible. Lots of ruts from erosion and huge pot holes. My reserved pull through site was not long enough for my toad so I had to unhook for my overnight stay. The site was also very unlevel front to back. Typical KOA with lots of interstate noise. Sorry, but we will not return. We camped at Horse Cave KOA in a Motorhome.

Charlestown State Park, Charlestown, Indiana
Date of Stay:
June, 2018 -
$40.00
Overall Rating:
We are frequent visitors to this state park. Very nice campground, great hiking trails and great view of the Ohio river. This weekend we were very disappointed by, probably a previous camper, who let their dog do it's business and failed to pick up the Marmaduke sized piles. Made for a nasty camp site in the 90 degree sun. Come on fellow campers, have some class and respect the campers who pull in to your spot when you leave. We will be back. Hopefully whoever stayed in this spot before us will not. We camped at Charlestown State Park in a Motorhome.
Hike the awesome trails!

West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA, Gretna, Nebraska
Date of Stay:
May, 2018 -
$49.00
Overall Rating:
The entrance in is a hard turn but doable. They pack the rv's in here! My biggest complaint is the dusty roads. When we left everything was filthy. But as with most KOA's everything worked fine, we felt safe and the park is close to everything you need. Great bike trails along the river near downtown Omaha. We camped at West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA in a Motorhome.
For a great walk or bike ride go to Chalco Hills Recreation Area nearby. Awesome park and path around a very large pond.

We stayed at a 50 amp FHU site. Nice level pad with plenty of room. Nice bike trails nearby. Park is close to any store you want. Overall the park was okay. The road in to the campground was challenging with steep hills and turns including one huge hill at the entrance! We had a good time. We camped at Sugar Bottom COE in a Motorhome.

Kentucky Lakes / Prizer Point KOA, Cadiz, Kentucky
Date of Stay:
October, 2017 -
$75.00
Overall Rating:
Had to flee the gulf due to hurricane Nate and ended up here for 4 days. First time to LBL. This place really needs some TLC. Interior roads are poor, sites are unlevel, muddy and close together. We stayed in the premium spot which had a concrete pad and was level, but the site was close to our neighbors and had a very tight turn to get out. KOA is building a new section and the sites look awful. Extremely unlevel, narrow and muddy. Sorry, but we will not return unless the reviews improve. We camped at Kentucky Lakes / Prizer Point KOA in a Motorhome.

Texas T Campground, Cornersville, Tennessee
Date of Stay:
October, 2017 -
$33.00
Overall Rating:
We had to flee the gulf coast due to hurricane Nate and ended up here. Very nice and well kept place. Staff was very welcoming. Even though it's right next to the interstate, we really didn't notice the noise. Sites were level all were pull throughs and all utilities worked. Only negative is the dusty entry road and intermittent wifi. We would stay here again when passing through. We camped at Texas T Campground in a Motorhome.

Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham, Alabama
Date of Stay:
October, 2017 -
$42.00
Overall Rating:
We love staying at state parks and this is a typical park built long ago before today's modern rv's. Sites were laid out oddly and not level. We picked up an ant infestation in the rv and dealt with it for a week. Trails are great as is the overall scenery. We'll come back to hike but not to camp. We camped at Oak Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.
Go hiking, the trails are great.

DeSoto State Park, Fort Payne, Alabama
Date of Stay:
April, 2017 -
$42.00
Overall Rating:
Spent 6 nights and enjoyed every day. Excellent hiking trails! Very quiet and well kept park. Would have given a 10 except for the unlevel sites. The back in sites seemed to be more level than the pull throughs, but we made it work. Easy drive to Fort Payne for groceries, etc. We'd go back! We camped at DeSoto State Park in a Motorhome.
Tip: make sure you take 35 from Fort Payne to 89. If you go through Menton, the roads are narrow and curvy if you have a big rig.

Whittington Woods Campground, Whittington, Illinois
Date of Stay:
October, 2015 -
$33.00
Overall Rating:
Staff very friendly and escorted us to our site. Sites were packed gravel and level. Plenty of room for big rigs. The campground is very nice and clean. They had activities and snacks for the guests and an organized trick or treating for the kids. Little bit of road noise from highway 37 but not bad. Located close to the Rend Lake bike paths, Walmart and anything else you need. We would stay here again. We camped at Whittington Woods Campground in a Motorhome.
Take your bike to the Wayne Fitzgerald State Park or the Rend Lake bike paths. They are awesome!

South Marcum Campground, Benton, Illinois
Date of Stay:

Overall Rating:
Would have given this park a 10 if it weren't for the unlevel sites. However, that's the only negative. Very clean and spacious sites. The bike trail around Rend Lake is awesome. The whole area around the lake was very well kept. Even the ranger at the visitor center was very friendly. We will return here again. We camped at South Marcum Campground in a Motorhome.
Bring your bike and enjoy the trail that goes through or by all the parks around the lake.

Redman Creek Campground COE, Wappapello, Missouri
Date of Stay:
October, 2015 -
$24.00
Overall Rating:
Booked here because of the excellent reviews on previous posts. Park was just okay. Unfriendly guy at check-in couldn't even tell me where to buy firewood. I guess he's never been asked that question before. Park was quiet and clean. Spots not very level. Would not book here again. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Motorhome.
Nice walking trails in Wappaello State Park.
