Tres Rios River Ranch, Glen Rose, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Tres Rios 3 x's this year. And have loved every stay. The front campsites are for public month leases, the middle and back sites are for members if the ocean canyon properties. They allow Coast 2 Coast members to stay twice a year. Lots has been written in the reviews about their amenities, so I won't expound on that. Is a comfortable and homey resort. We love the beauty there and walking paths, nice people, nice laundry, playground, etc. We would stay there again but have met our limit for the year. We camped at Tres Rios River Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Mitchell Resort and RV Park, Perrin, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

You need to know that they is no cell reception if you have Verizon. There is nothing close to this park. They charge for each additional child beyond the two adults. I hate it when parks do that. I won't be back. However, the campground is kept very nice and the grounds are pretty. We camped at Mitchell Resort and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tres Rios River Ranch, Glen Rose, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We read a lot of negative reviews about this resort but noticed that most of them were concerning membership. So we decided to give it a try since we weren't interested in that aspect. There are a lot of permanent campers here. We ended up loving our experience here and would stay again. We didn't have time to explore all of their buildings. We did use their bathrooms and showers- both were in desperate need of updating. (So old you couldn't tell if they were actually clean.) All hookups worked well at our site. We loved the quaint towns of Glen Rose and Granbury nearby. Tres Rios has great horse shoe pits & tetherball. Our favorite thing was the beautiful walking path by the river. Kind and helpful staff. And friendly campers. We camped at Tres Rios River Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Mill Creek Ranch RV & Cottage Resort, Canton, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This resort has some very nice things going for it. The bathrooms were not very clean(like the shower rugs were filthy). There would be more to do here if the weather were nice, however, we were surprised that they have obviously put a lot of money and effort into making their buildings beautiful but they have neglected to build a clubhouse. That would have made our stay great- since we'd rather be active than sit and watch TV in our camper. We had no Wi-Fi reception at our site. We were happy with the laundry room that is attached to the main check-in office.

I think most of their campers are there to go to the First Monday flea market. We camped at Mill Creek Ranch RV & Cottage Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Northlake RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Planes, trains and automobiles!!!! No kidding, this is the nosiest campground we have ever stayed in. Right next to a highway on one side, and a railroad on the other and most of Houston's air traffic overhead. Sirens! Train horns! Planes! My family Hates the noise. Maybe, like we did, you look at this resort online and think it's in a nice "out of town" lake area. Well, it's a man-made pond with a fountain in the middle, surrounded by concrete RV pads. They created this resort in the middle of an industrial warehouse area and when you drive into the nearby commercial district, it's not a pretty/or safe part of town. This park is tight- close concrete pads- ours just happens to be a giant puddle after the rain, but it doesn't look like anyone else is. The campground only has one bathroom. So if you need or want this, is a bit of a walk. Half the sites are occupied by full-time laborers.

Pros: clean and well-maintained, nice laundry room, beautiful little heated pool, close to the city, secure.

We will not be staying here again. We camped at Northlake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground), Willis, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

They have two rows of site reserved for "members", and the rest are uneven dirt with a handful of gravel. While we've been here, there's only been one camper in the member row. So all of those concrete pads are just sitting empty and taunting us. The bathrooms near our site are clean, but rough (doors does that don't close all the way, occasional large cockroaches, etc). They have a tiny old playground. The waterfront is pretty. The roads through the non-member campsites are terrible. Pool is large but not heated. They have a beautiful new outdoor pavilion, but not a campfire area, which we would have loved. There are tiny weed prickers EVERYWHERE that will find their way into your camper. And after being here for 5 nights, our camper is now infested with ants. We are checking out early because of the ants and prickers.

I forgot to add, the laundry is sub-par. Half of the machines don't work, and the ones that do-don't do it well.

We won't stay here again. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Spring Gulch Resort Campground, New Holland, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Clean bathrooms! We were surprised to have a site with no sewer in the lower part of the campground. This was our first trip with our camper so we didn't know much different. We had to extend two nights because our camper needed repairs and they charged us $52.00 per night for those nights. That irritates me since we didn't even have full hookups.

The area is very beautiful and idyllic. Be prepared for horse dung all under your camper and truck since the Amish buggies get it all over the roads. The staff here is friendly. There is a fun little park for the kids. We camped at Spring Gulch Resort Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Indian Cove Resort, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 3 nights. We were very happy with our stay! Security guard escorted us to our site since we pulled in after dark. We were happy to find a concrete pad at our site since it was raining. The bathrooms were close and VERY clean. Our only complaint about the bathrooms was the small size of the showers.

The laundry was great- clean and inexpensive. All machines worked great (I used all of them for my big family LOL). Wi-Fi was strong and consistent. Plenty of room to maneuver our rig. And the best part was the location, just down the road from Sandbridge beach. Also close to all kinds of nice shopping and restaurants. We also took a day trip down to Kitty Hawk to see where the Wright brothers flew. We camped at Indian Cove Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
