Turkey Creek Water Park, Decatur, Mississippi

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is quiet and peaceful. Most sites have plenty of shade. Sites 13 through 22 have at least a partial view of the beautiful lake. Plenty of room on the sites and between sites. The park offers several activities including fishing, kayaking, hiking (Lakeview trail runs completely around the 250 acre lake), swimming (designated area with beach) and bike riding. The park staff was friendly and helpful. Other campers were friendly as well. We camped at Turkey Creek Water Park in a Travel Trailer.

Marathon Lake/Bienville NF, Forest, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

There are several sites with a good view of the beautiful lake. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all and to enjoy some peace and quiet this is the place. Very quiet. There is a trail that runs around the lake that is approximately 1.5 miles long. There are miles of dirt/gravel county roads that are right outside of the campground that are great for bike riding with virtually no traffic. No phone service or TV channels but that was a good thing. The only negative was the bathrooms were not as clean as they should be. We camped at Marathon Lake/Bienville NF in a Travel Trailer.

Timberlake Campground, Brandon, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

My site was level and spacious with a good view of the Ross Barnett Reservoir. The park is close to grocery stores and restaurants. A nice, long, paved bike trail is located just outside the park. Timberlake has a nice but small swimming pool and tennis courts. Lots of recreational opportunities. We camped at Timberlake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Roosevelt State Park, Morton, Mississippi

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We had a great time at this state park located in the beautiful Bienville National Forest. They have some nice, well-marked hiking trails (approximately 4 miles total) and an excellent disc golf course. If you want even more hiking, the 20+ mile Shockaloe Trail (closed during winter months) is approximately 5 miles from the park. We enjoyed riding our bikes throughout the park. Roosevelt State Park has two RV camping areas. We were in the "old" campground area. The restrooms and showers were clean. There are many sites with an excellent view of the beautiful lake. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were able to get internet access on our phones. The park is easy to find and right off of I-20. We camped at Roosevelt State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Lincoln State Park, Wesson, Mississippi

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The park has plenty of sites with a good view of the beautiful lake. Most sites appeared to be level. We enjoyed playing disc golf on the nice, wooded course. Very quiet park. The bathhouse was clean and had plenty of hot water. The staff was friendly and helpful. It appears that the lake is a popular spot for fishing. For the most part, the park was clean, however, there were a few areas along the lake that had some litter. We camped at Lake Lincoln State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The directions we had were not very good. From I-55 to the park, closely follow the brown, Lake Lincoln State Park signs and you will be fine.

Clear Springs Recreation Area, Meadville, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We thoroughly enjoyed soaking in the beauty of God's creation at this park. The RV sites are surrounded by towering trees. We spent a large portion of our time hiking on the trails. There are two 10+ mile trails that are accessible from the park as well as a 1 mile trail around the lake. There are lots of hills. It was almost like being in the mountains. The campground hostess was very helpful and it was obvious that she really enjoys her job. We will definitely be going back to this park. I would recommend loop B(sites 1-12) if you have a large motorhome. We camped at Clear Springs Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Percy Quin State Park, Mccomb, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice view of the lake from our RV site. Pay a few bucks extra and get a premium site if you want to be right on the water. A very peaceful and relaxing setting. Plenty of room to ride bikes throughout the park. The nature trail is well marked but could use a little maintenance. A great family oriented park. Lots of kids playing and having a great time. We camped at Percy Quin State Park in a Travel Trailer.
