Sunshine Travel RV Resort, Vero Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Very easy to get to. Lot sizes varied, the premium were stunningly long, the other sites were long enough for my 34' 5th wheel and my truck. Roads were in great shape, the spots were paved. Only one clubhouse with restrooms and showers, it's centrally located but can be quite a walk depending on where you are. Pool is in good shape and popular. A few different activities offered every day. We camped at Sunshine Travel RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is 10 minutes away from Sebastian with plenty of dining choices. Park is 20 minutes away from Vero Beach with everything you'd need shopping and dining and a few activities. You can get to the "lagoon" within 10 minutes (basically the ocean) or you can drive across the bridge to A1A to all the beaches you'd need.

Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort, Lutz, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

If you're looking for a campground, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a convenient location to see the Tampa sites, it's great. The park is clean, restrooms older but well kept. Sites are small and interior roads are very narrow. The employees are very nice and there's usually an activity almost every day. About 75% of the sites are annuals, but they're generally show models and the majority are well kept. We camped at Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Chestnut Lake RV Campground, Port Republic, New Jersey

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

It's a pretty basic park. The pool had closed when we were there as well as the second set of restrooms, they have a very basic clubhouse and a playground. That's about it. The mini-golf area is in pretty bad shape and not much else to do there. We stayed in the back half and the sites were an average size. Electric, water & sewage all good. The one set of restrooms were kept clean. We camped at Chestnut Lake RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

I highly recommend taking the very short drive to Smithville, it's got lots of novelty shops and a few restaurants. Not much else in the immediate area. Plan to drive about 30 minutes to get to most shopping/dining options.

Peace River RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Wauchula, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

Your experience will vary depending on time of year and your needs. During the busy time, you will almost assuredly be unable to get 50 amp or sewage when you arrive. You'll go to the office daily trying to get a better spot and probably will within a few days. I only need 30 amp and was only there for a week so could make do without sewage (they offer once a week "Honey Wagon" service as well) and everything worked great for me. The overflow area was dry when I went (I've heard horror stories about when it's not) and the spots were spacious and the electric & water worked great. Nice trails to walk, plenty of activities, the pickleball, and shuffleboard areas were in good shape and frequently used but you could almost always get in. The pool was popular, and the laundry facility was outstanding (pay with credit card or coins, get text messages when your laundry is done). We camped at Peace River RV & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a wal-mart within 5 miles. Not a lot of restaurants, but a few. Highly recommend Giovanni's. Main Street Grill is now a Mexican restaurant and was quite good. Otherwise, you're looking at a 30 - 45 minute drive to get to any significant shopping or dining.

If you're into wildlife sanctuaries, the "Lions and Tigers and Bears" in nearby Arcadia is excellent.

Three Flags RV Campground, Wildwood, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one week in a 34' 5th wheel. The sites were grass but level and very large, big rigs should have no problem. No trouble getting satellite to work, 3 bars verizon signal. Restrooms were well maintained, though it can be a long walk to get to them depending on where your site is. Plenty of dining and shopping within 20 minute drive. We camped at Three Flags RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Hagan-Stone City Park, Pleasant Garden, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. We stayed in the "B" section and honestly, our 34' 5th wheel was probably too big. It fit, but just barely. The inner ring of spots are all pull so it was easy to get into, I saw some larger rigs try to back into the outer spots and it was challenging. The other "C" section has much larger spots. B section is very pretty, completely wooded (which also means no satellite). The restrooms were acceptable, but not great. Twice my wife complained there was no toilet paper, and the showers weren't very clean. The park has lots of nice wooded trails for walking. The park itself was very clean. Trash bins readily available and we saw camp workers every day taking care of the place. We camped at Hagan-Stone City Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails / Carolina Landing, Fair Play, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

The park is kept clean, facilities were dated, but in good shape. The office called me the morning of my arrival date and confirmed reservation as well as provided great directions to the park. It is a hilly campground, we could get level, but it took some effort. Had good Verizon signal and was able to use satellite at our site (availability would vary as some sites had significantly more trees than others). We camped at Thousand Trails / Carolina Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA, Gaffney, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Park is kept very clean, spots are mostly grass and ours wasn't very level but with blocks we could make it work. The people working there were very helpful. It has a small shop, propane on-site, putt-putt golf. Lots of trees made it impossible to use satellite, but it looked like there was a row of sites on the south end that would have worked, they did have basic cable hookup (though no ESPN). Sites are average sized, we were within about 15 feet of our neighbor. Price was monthly rate. Would have given slightly higher rating but while we were there they re-surfaced their pool so we spent days listening to loud compressors and workers. We camped at Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Cliffside County Park, Racine, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, the site was spacious. Lots of trees which made for an attractive park, but it was a challenge to get our satellite to work. Sites are grass, but they were level and we had no problems. Restrooms are in great shape and kept very clean. Lots of trails to walk, though the ticks were abundant that time of year. Short drive to Milwaukee and lots to do within an hours drive. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cliffside County Park in a Fifth Wheel.
