Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn), Terlingua, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We have camped a lot across the country both in state and private parks. I typically give RV Park owners a wide degree of latitude on their reviews and providing reasonable facilities. When I was researching this place Before coming out here, I found mixed reviews. I can honestly say this park far is the worst “resort” I have ever spent money at and will not be back.

This campground is located conveniently off of the highway and obviously caters to the transient traveler that are visiting Big Bend. The rates they charge are very high and you get very little in amenities. I guess common courtesy costs extra but I didn’t see that as an option when I booked my site.

The RV sites give you a place to hook up and thats about it. The sites really close, gravel pads which are kinda level and they mixed in with tent campers and cabin/motel rooms. This was a fun experience. The shouting, dog barking, flash light beams in your eyes and having your minor daughter get to see a grown man pee behind their dumpster. This is one classy “resort”.

Cell service is spotty out here and you would think that a “resort” would at least have WiFi at their rates. Nope. The only place you can access WiFi is in their “clubhouse” behind the office.

I found that there are a bunch of other places in the area that cater to RV’rs. Just sayin. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Motorhome.

Safe Harbor RV Park, Riverside, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is located conveniently off of the highway. Once inside the the campground the roads are well maintained and but tight to navigate.

In general, the campground’s facilities are okay. This campground appears to be full of full time tenants and very few short term campers.

The campground served its purpose for a quick stop over while traveling though. I would not stay here for an extended period of time. We camped at Safe Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground is located conveniently within the Kitty Hawk area. The road leading to the campground could use some attention but keep your speed down and you’ll have no issues.

Once inside the the campground the roads are well maintained and easy to navigate.

This campground is located conveniently off the highway and if I’m in the area, I will stay here again.

In general this campground is a mixture of both short term and long term campers. The long term campers keep their sites clean and orderly. The sites are fairly level gravel pads that are fairly level.

In general, the campground’s facilities are really good. The owners of this campground obviously take pride in their facilities and keeping appearances up.

Winngray Family Campground, Waynesville, North Carolina

Overall Rating:

This campground is located conveniently off the highway but I will not plan to stay here again.

In general this campground is full of long term campers. The sites are a mixture of gravel / grass pads that are fairly level.

In general, the campground’s facilities are average at best. We passed quite a few other campgrounds on this same stretch of road that I will be using in the future.... We camped at Winngray Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Nashville East / Lebanon KOA, Lebanon, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is good when your passing through when the area. It’s right off the highway and you know it is there with constant drone of freeway traffic. The traffic noise is not distracting, just expect it because of your location.

The campground’s staff were friendly and helpful.

In general, the campground’s facilities are nice. It seems that they place the short term campers in the front section. The back section of the campground is for their long term campers.

The back section is still nice but their long term residents don’t try to keep their “stuff” placed either out of sight or stored in an orderly fashion.

The bathroom facilities were nice in the front. I’m sure the back section was also nice but we didn’t not use them. We camped at Nashville East / Lebanon KOA in a Motorhome.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We would definitely recommend this campground when you're in the area. It’s off the highway enough to feel you are camping out of the city, but close enough to get back on the interstate within minutes.

The campground’s main attraction is the river traffic on the Mississippi River. Multiple benches are set up along the riverbank for you to relax and watch life float by. For those that don’t typically like to hear Diesel engines, the tugs pushing the barge traffic can be heard lumbering by. We thought that the rumbling of the boats were quaint and enjoyed the experience.

The bathroom facilities were nice, they offer free use of their laundry and dryer facilities and the sites are spacious. The nightly rate is a bit high for the “amenities” but you are paying for the location by the river. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Wood Recreation Area, Gonzales, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The staff is friendly and the park is clean/quiet. The internal roads are tight and very little artificial lights in the area. So if you arrive at night keep a sharp eye out for the big trees next to the roadways. If your looking for a nice place to lay low for a few days, you might want to check this park out. We camped at Lake Wood Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Lakeside RV Park, Livingston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little RV park. We stayed while we were passing through, however, I could easily see this being a destination park. The location is good for easy off/easy on access to the highway and the road noise is minimal. The park was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The concrete sites are level and the individual sites are clean and spacious. The park has many different amenities that are in good working order. The lake is great for fishing, kayaking and other water based activities.
Overall it is a good park and I would stay here again. We camped at Lakeside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Carrabelle Beach RV Resort, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little layover RV park while your traveling between destinations. The location is good for easy off/easy on access to the highway. The park was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The concrete sites are far from level and when they designed the park, they maximized the amount of RVs they could hold, leaving small individual sites.

The beach is right across the highway so access to it was very easy.
Overall it is a good park, however, they have some neighbors to their west that have a large pack of dogs that bark constantly. If I was in the area again I would stay here again. We camped at Carrabelle Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Triple C's Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee W', Chattahoochee, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The park is located about one mile south of the freeway so the highway traffic noise is gone and your camping in a nice wooded environment. As your travelling down the road, the parks location allows easy on / easy off access to the highway. Checked in without a problem and the park's amenities were good. Most of the sites are asphalt but the sites are close to each other.

We enjoyed our stay and would do so again if in the area. We camped at Triple C's Campground & RV Park (Formerly Chattahoochee/Tallahassee W' in a Motorhome.
