Harris Beach State Park, Brookings, Oregon
Date of Stay:
September, 2017 -
$29.00
Overall Rating:
This is a typical Oregon State Park with very nice sites, personal and services. Very close to a city (Brookings) and highway (101) but quiet and easy access to a great beach/sunsets. All the paid employees and volunteer camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't get the cable TV hookup to work however it may have been operator error. Had some over the air channels though. We camped at Harris Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Shadows RV Park, Wells, Nevada
Date of Stay:
October, 2016 -
$28.00
Overall Rating:
We stayed here for one night as an enroute stop. As such, it is fine. It is conveniently near the highway in a decent neighborhood and we experienced little objectionable noise. Convenient hookups and good power considering the 90-100 degree temp.
Our dog liked this park! We
camped at Mountain Shadows RV Park in a Motorhome.
Only attraction here was a good nights sleep. We enjoyed this.

Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground, Gold Beach, Oregon
Date of Stay:
September, 2016 -
$35.00
Overall Rating:
Honey Bear is a very comfortable and quiet park with decent site separation and good access to the beach. Octoberfest was in full swing at the park during our stay with great food and entertainment. The staff was extremely cordial and helpful. We camped at Honey Bear By the Sea RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.
There is not much to do within walking distance other that the great beach and on site restaurant. Park is very dog friendly overall with an additional 15 acre annex that is off leash.

Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park), Waldport, Oregon
Date of Stay:
September, 2016 -
$25.00
Overall Rating:
This is a great little RV park on the Alsea river a couple of miles inland from 101. We stayed overnight and were delighted with our quiet and peaceful site. The on site owner was very friendly, efficient and helpful. Laundry was reasonable and clean. There isn't much to do within walking distance but its a great place to relax. There is also a great lending DVD and book library. The park is very pet friendly with a clean wide walking path to the river and a nice open area that can be leash free. On our 2 month rv trip, this was our favorite park. I wish more parks were like this-not fancy but clean, well managed and inviting. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Niagara Falls, Ontario
Date of Stay:
September, 2016 -
$40.00
Overall Rating:
We stayed just after the Labor Day holiday and found the park almost empty. The staff was helpful with campsite selection and our arrangements for touring Niagara Falls. They have a shuttle ($7 Canadian round-trip) to/from the park and are fairly close as well. There is a constant road noise "low hum" as well as occasional railroad traffic but neither was objectionable. The pool and laundry are a big plus. Overall this is a great place to stay while visiting Niagara Falls but not the place for a relaxing get-a-way. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in a Motorhome.
We recommend the Adventure Pass Classic for $43.00 for touring the Falls, which can be purchased at the RV Park. There is a fairly reasonably priced full service restaurant at the Falls (Table Rock) with good food and just outright outstanding views of the Niagara Falls.

Lakehead Boat Basin, Duluth, Minnesota
Date of Stay:
September, 2016 -
$37.00
Overall Rating:
Location...location...location. Our site was in the parking lot of a pleasure craft marina within a 10 minute walk to the most enjoyable area of historical Duluth. We opted for the electric and water only site over the FHU due to the outstanding view offered of the city including the nearby Duluth Lift Bridge. We came for 2 nights, stayed for 4 and didn't want to leave. We camped at Lakehead Boat Basin in a Motorhome.
On Tuesdays the 2 hour Vista Boat Harbor cruise was only $5.00. Outstanding value and very educational. Depot Train Museum and the free Maritime Museum were not to be missed.

River Haven Resort, Britt, Ontario
Date of Stay:
September, 2016 -
$27.00
Overall Rating:
Park was exactly what we needed for a brief overnight stay at a great price. Our rig is 27 feet with no tow so we fit fine in our site. Good 30 amp, water and sewer were well placed on our site. . Park was very quiet with a few trains transiting the area without annoyance. Although we were 1/2 mile or so from the highway, it could not be heard. Manager/owner was very pleasant and efficient at check in. The park is on the Magnetawan river with a nice little sandy beach and marina. We found the seasonal residents very friendly. Overall Park is laid back with an eclectic ambiance. We would return. We camped at River Haven Resort in a Motorhome.
