Log Cabin Resort & Campground, Curtis, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

As others have stated, this is definitely not a resort, it is a campground. We had a back-in site on grass. It was not very level. Bring a long hose for your water hookup as many of the water spigots are on the passenger side, not with the sewer and electric. Our cable connection was so far back on our site, our cable would not reach. The WiFi was so weak it was essentially useless and cell service for AT&T and Verizon was very weak. We were there in July and the big black flies were relentless and vicious, so much so we couldn't sit out much and certainty didn't want to eat outside. There is not much in Curtis (except 2 ice cream shops!!) and anything is a long drive away. It is located on a very pretty lake, but we only walked down to it once because I slid and fell on the loose stones. I would not stay here again. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

City of Houghton RV Park, Houghton, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV Park run by the city. All roads and sites are paved. The roads were wide enough for us to maneuver our 40' motor and the site was plenty long enough. Each site has a shelter with a picnic table and either a patio or deck. We were in the back row, which is elevated so we had a wonderful view of the river, looking over the units in the front row. The host was most helpful and accommodating. We had site #15 and had no problem leveling our motor home. Even though there are not much for amenities, I felt the price we paid was fair. We had stayed at another park in the UP for just about the same price and it was mediocre at best. The WiFi works great and the cable TV was good. I would definitely stay here again We camped at City of Houghton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Yanks RV Resort, Greenfield, California

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Yanks for 7 nights over Thanksgiving. The park is very well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is right off US 101 with easy access. We had a premium site that was 110' long and on the end, so we had a large grassy area also. We faced south, which was very nice, since it was cold and the sun coming in our front window warmed up our coach nicely. Saying that, it wouldn't be a good choice in the hot months, but we always take that into consideration when requesting a specific site and they were able to give us the site we requested. Yes it is windy-mostly from the SE,S or SW, but we knew that and they tell you when you check in and it is on your receipt. And, lets face it - what can they do to stop the wind?? There is not much in Greenfield, but there are wineries nearby that are very nice. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Yanks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Rancho San Miguel in Greenfield is a large Hispanic grocery store, but has all-American items also. Staff is extremely helpful and courteous.

Durango RV Resort, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We had a lovely site overlooking the river. The site was fairly wide and long enough for our 45' motor home and toad with a nice grassy area by the river. The park was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. There was traffic noise from I-5, but we knew there would be after checking the location on Google maps, so for the reviews that complain about that-it should not have been a surprise, considering the location. So it would be an excellent overnight stop for anyone traveling on I-5. We would definitely return. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.
