Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA , Montgomery, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice RV park with level cement pads, pull-thru and back-in sites, FHU-50 amp, cement patio with picnic table and fire pit. Long sites. Fairly spacious grass area between sites. Cable. Sometimes good wifi. Pool. Hot tub (which was broken when we were there). Interior roads good for big-rigs. Pond, pier, gazebo, bridge over pond (needs maintenance). Very nice kid play area. Pickle ball and basketball courts. Laundry. Dog park. Some long-time residents but rigs and sites are maintained. Would stay here again. We camped at Lake Conroe / Houston North KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Bayou Wilderness RV Resort, Carencro, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The roads leading to this RV park are a bit rough and it's somewhat far from the freeway if you're looking for an overnight stay. Very quiet RV park in a rural area. Our site was very nice. Long gravel pull-thru site with cement patio. Picnic table, BBQ. FHU-50 amp, cable, excellent Tengo wifi. Pool. Lots of space between sites. Some sites were on grass and had no patios. Internal road were OK...not great for big rigs, but OK. Looked like there are some long-time residents. Check-in staff was excellent. Small store, which was helpful as there is not much around this location. We camped at Bayou Wilderness RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Alabama Coast RV Park, Foley, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet, bare-bones RV park not far from activities in the area. Our site was level gravel, others were grass. FHU-50 amp. Fire pit. The "pull-thru" sites are not what we think of as pull-thru. They had a small, narrow road behind the site...not big enough for a big rig to safely turn and pull into it but probably OK for smaller rigs. No patio or picnic table, no pool or hot tub, no wifi, no cable, no laundry, and cannot receive mail. Although there are some sites with lots of space, ours was so tight on one side that there was barely enough room for the slides. The other side felt spacious because trees separated the sites. Sites are long. There is one main road with sites extending on either side of that road. The road is spacious and wide enough for big rigs. At the end of the road there is a small rec room made out of storage containers. The owner was helpful and is working hard to improve the RV park. We camped at Alabama Coast RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines), Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Don't recommend this for big rigs. Internal roads are passable but narrow and getting into the sites is a challenge. It had recently rained and our site was in standing water; we had to use rubber boots for setup and take down. Pull-thru, FHU-50. Cable. So-so wifi. Small patio. Picnic table. Sites are very narrow and slide-outs almost touched. Decent length though. Nice rec center. Laundry room. Gazebo next to a pond. Owners are nice and are working hard to upgrade. Probably would not stay again here due to difficulty of getting a big rig into the site. We camped at Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines) in a Fifth Wheel.

There is an interesting brewery downtown - Halpatter. It was built in an old courthouse. Good beer. Very good atmosphere. The Elks is right across the street and there is a beautiful lake in back of the Elks Club.

Lazydays RV Campground, Seffner, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

All sites are back-in. Ours was full hook-up with 50 amp. Cement pads; ours was not level. Sites are fairly small with barely enough room for rig and truck. Trucks had to be moved for neighbors to park and to leave. Grass and picnic table between RV's. Cable. Good wifi even though park was very full. Very nice pool and hot tub. Internal roads are Ok for big rigs but could use repaving. Great restaurant in park with wide variety of good food. Restaurant is modeled after an RV. Go early as it gets crowded. Would stay here again. We camped at Lazydays RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Don't miss the iconic Parksdale Farm Market - famous for their strawberries. Don't let long lines deter you; they move very fast and there is lots of seating. Lazy Days RV sales, service, and store is next door; a shuttle will take you there.

Pecan Park RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

Good park in an unfortunate location. The park itself: Friendly, efficient check-in. Cement pull-thru full hookup spots. Spots are somewhat level but cement on some sites is cracked. Patio & picnic table. Good wifi. Cable. Pool. Small lake. The location: It is directly under a flight path and the planes are so close that one can count the rivets! The planes take off at 6 am sharp and end in the evening so it is quieter at night but quite loud during the day. Park is also near a freeway; convenient for stop-overs but noisy. This is a great place for a stop-over and we've stopped here frequently on our way between South Carolina and Florida. Central Reservation will say that a minimum of 1 week stay is required but ask for the local office as they do allow overnight stays. There are a number of long-term RV's but they are maintained. They are in the back section. Travelers are put in the front section. We would stay here again as a stop-over spot but would not stay longer due to the very loud noise. Price seemed high. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage, Saint George, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice RV park with lots of grass, ponds, wildlife, etc. Sites are level, FHU-50 amp, some are pull-thru and some back-in. Many sites are on gravel, some are on cement. No wifi or cable but good antenna TV reception. Some areas have trees, others are in the sunshine. Nice views. Very quiet! Looks as if they have some long-time people but all rigs are nice and the sites are well maintained. Internal roads are good. Owners are very nice. Office closes between 12 & 2, so arrive outside of that time for check-in. Definitely would stay here again. We camped at Jolly Acres RV Park and Storage in a Fifth Wheel.

Stone Mountain Park, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large campground to meet every need...from big rigs to tents. It is clean and nice and fun to be right at Stone Mountain. Our site was level back-in with FHU-50 amp. Woodsy with many sites having lake views. Pool. Wifi worthless. Cable. Almost all sites are back-in and, unfortunately, all that we saw require backing in from the driver's blind side, so be ready for this. Internal roads are OK but in need of some repair. The campground and the park have two different addresses. Use the park address when doing GPS. They have discounts but you must ask for them when registering; they won't give it to you later and they don't ask. We camped at Stone Mountain Park in a Fifth Wheel.

North Crest RV Park, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Extremely loud freeway noise at all times. If that doesn't bother you, then the RV park is decent. Level cement pads; FHU-50; both pull-thru and back-in's; BBQ; nice picnic table; well-trimmed trees; very fast wifi; cable only via a box and direct connect to TV, requiring wires to go through the RV window; and a trash can at each site which owner empties. The sites are laid out so that the RV's are not looking directly into another rig. Internal roads are OK. No park amenities (no pool, maps, etc.). Check-in office is at back of park (unless enter from frontage road). We camped at North Crest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Top of the Hill RV Resort, Boerne, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

RV park has FHU-50 amp level gravel sites, some back-in & some pull-thru. Sites are long but narrow, however, there is lots of grass surrounding each site so there is plenty of room for slide-outs. Staff leads you to the site. No cable and poor wifi. Internal roads are narrow but passable. Facilities are very nice...exercise room with lots of equipment, pool, fish pond, meeting room, pool table, rec room with full kitchen & satellite TV, games, $1.00 laundry, etc. Some nice views of valley surrounding the hill. Some long term residents but all sites are well maintained. Biggest complaint...consistently loud noise from I-10 freeway. We camped at Top of the Hill RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice RV park; an excellent stay on the long drive through Texas on the I-10. Long, wide, level gravel pull through sites, FHU-30 and 50 amp. Grass in between sites. Great wifi. Cable. Pool. Quiet if ask for a site away from the freeway. Good internal roads for big rigs. EZ on and off the 1-10 freeway. Very good restaurant in the RV park that serves simple, delicious food. We have stayed here before and definitely will stay here again. While they take RV's that drop in, it's better to reserve ahead as this is a popular stop. Very nice RV park with wide and long, level gravel FHU-50 amp pull-thru sites. Wide internal roads. Park is well maintained. No wifi or cable. Can use pool and gym in next door hotel. Emerald Cove Resort, Earp, California

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great RV park right on the Colorado River. It is a membership-only park but, if not a member, one can stay a couple days if going to the presentation. Only Coast to Coast members can park right on the water, but all can use the beach and river. They are associated with other memberships who can stay for a slight fee. They have large, wide sites with 30 or 50 amp FHU back-in or pull-thru on gravel. Internal road are wide and EZ to navigate. Very quiet unless there's a loud boat roaring up/down the river. There are 2 pools (plus a kiddie pool), 2 hot tubs, bar, food at bar, miniature golf, other games, and, of course, the river. No cable...even antennae is worthless as it's in a valley. Need satellite if want to watch TV. WIFI is only at the bar but cell reception is good if you bring your own hotspot. It's a wonderful place to just R&R. We've stayed there multiple times and will do so again! Very relaxing. We camped at Emerald Cove Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

ICamp Green River, Green River, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Recently purchased RV park (now called ICamp) and owners are working to fix it up. Level dirt pull-thru FHU spots-30 & 50 amp. Office was closed upon our arrival and owners had left all info in an envelope with our names on it on the door. This included directions to our site and WiFi code. Very easy check-in. WiFi was good. Very quiet. Internal road were good. We were there only for an overnight stay. Across the street is a very green and lush state RV park. This RV park was still dry with a few trees. That must be hard for the owners, but it was fine for an overnight stay. We camped at ICamp Green River in a Fifth Wheel.
