Worlds of Fun Village, Kansas City, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. While our site was long enough, it had a slope and our truck tail gate hit the hitch. We were able to park and disconnect on the level, but didn't care for the slope. Directions to the park using Google were not clear enough and we ended up in the Worlds of Fun Parking lot. Signs need to clarify which road to take to get to the "Village" which is the RV Park and accessed by going to Oceans of Fun Parking. If you have never been to the RV Park before, check your directions and don't trust Google Maps as it directs you to Worlds of Fun Parking and not the RV Park. We camped at Worlds of Fun Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Victorian Acres Campground, Nebraska City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little park. As with most parks, there are permanent residents living there. We tried to get into Rockport MO area, but everything was full, so we opted to stop sooner rather than later and this nice little park had availability. Site was W/E only but that is all we needed for one night. We camped at Victorian Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mitchell KOA, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Since it was just a one night stay, we didn't explore the park aside from taking our dogs for a short walk. Plenty of grass and dog bags so no excuse not to pick up. We noticed they had concrete storm shelters located throughout the park. There was no TV access (1 channel only). We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is an older KOA but is in good shape. Our Pull thru site allowed us to be level without unhooking. We camped at Amarillo KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Rapid City / Black Hills KOA, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Nice Park. Nice Staff. 1st site was a muddy and we requested a change & got it. The laundry was clean and adequate. Our site was near the stairs that took us to the shower house / laundry building and to the dog walk. Cable was good & we received a sheet of the expanded cable channels as those listed in the site map were limited. WiFi was good. Cell service - Verizon - was adequate but not consistent. We camped at Rapid City / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Large Park and located at the base of Devil's Tower, so it was a long drive off the main roads. We were disappointed in our site as it was not level and difficult to get into. They had run out of Site Maps (close to end of season) so all we received was a copy of the park layout. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

We were not impressed with this KOA. 1. Previous occupant had left his trash and it was still at the site when we checked in. It remained there until the next morning when we took it to the trash ourselves. 2. Our site was badly in need of gravel. There were puddles and mud even though the rain had stopped. 3. It was the 1st KOA without Propane and no recommendations. 4. When we called the office, we got no answer and had to phone several times. For all the awards this KOA is said to have, we were not impressed. We camped at Billings KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Yellowstone Park / Mountainside KOA, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

West Yellowstone KOA was conveniently located to Yellowstone N.P. Short drive into and thru town and you were at the park entrance. We signed for 4 days but was given a full refund for an early departure due to an impending snowstorm (which actually did come). Cable channels were limited but adequate, as was the WiFi. We camped at Yellowstone Park / Mountainside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Pocatella KOA is a small park. No Cable, but WiFi is good. They also had gas so we didn't have to disconnect or look for a station. Great for an overnight on our way to Yellowstone. We camped at Pocatello KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Springville / Provo KOA, Springville, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Large Park, and clean. We arrived around noon and found the office closed. After calling the number and leaving a message, a staff member finally showed up - 20 minutes later. We had a reservation so was surprised that the office said open, but was locked and no note on the door. Laundry facilities were clean. Our site was a pull thru but we had to back out due to tree limbs. Extra parking for the laundry was right next to our RV and very close. We had to disconnect our truck and park perpendicular in front. There was no Cable but pretty good WiFi. We camped at Springville / Provo KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Slickrock Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Since Moab was very busy, we did not have too much of a choice in availability. Park was clean and we had a pull thru but because of the trees, we had to back out so that our rig would not be scratched. Slick Rock is a large park with many cabins and tent areas in addition to the number of permanent residents. Dog walk area had no grass - just dirt and was located next to the playground without a barrier between them. Of all the parks we stayed in during our month long trip, this park was the most expensive and not the best... gravel roads, only 30 amp. Phone service (Verizon) was only 1 bar, Cable had a large selection and WiFi was okay. We camped at Slickrock Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderland RV Park, Torrey, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderland is a small park - about 30 sites - but is well kept and clean. Laundry room was right across from our site, and although small, was adequate for the size of the park. Our dogs loved the pet walk area as it was also clean. Convenient to Capital Reef N.P. We camped at Wonderland RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

There was no apparent grocery store, just a small market and a gas station convenience store. Prices were somewhat higher than we were used to - it cost $2.50+ for a Quart of milk.

Tips for other Campers:

Book ahead as the area was very busy in September We got one of the last spots in a decent park. Our 5thW is 32' and most places had no availability for a rig our size - which is small compared to most MHs. The area parks may have had sites for larger rigs but they were occupied already.

Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park with very nice people. We stayed 2 nights so that we could go to Mesa Verde N.P. Very Clean and Laundry facilities were clean. A couple of machines were out of order, but that happens. The owners are new to this park, but own other KOAs so are in the process of improving this park, which only needs upgrading in a few areas...WiFi being one. It was spotty, and TV Channels were limited. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We were very disappointed in this park.It is an old park and the roads are not well kept - rutted in many places. Our site was a pull through but it was made difficult due to the rutted roads and the angle of departure. Our site was long, but very hilly and we had to unhook to be level. There was plenty of room to park behind RV if you wanted to park on a hill! There were a lot of permanent RVers in this park. We will book ahead at the KOA next time we are in the area. There was Cable. WiFi was good, but phone service (Verizon) was lousy. The dog park was used for socializing and we were only able to use it once during our stay. We camped at Rancheros de Santa Fe Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be Careful when shopping. We shopped at a Walmart and because they no longer use plastic bags, and I had left mine in the RV, we were charged 10 cents per brown bag and, while we were obviously over 50, we had to show ID to purchase 1 can of beer.
