Springville / Provo KOA, Springville, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

I decided to take summer off after workamping 4 1/2 yrs straight. Wanted to be near family and grands. This was my first KOA and will be the last. Granted I've had spacious and private volunteer sites over the years. The Utah housing shortage is real. This park is 80 percent long term with their vehicles everywhere. Glad my motorhome has no slides, sites are close. Built before 45ft dp towing enclosed trailers with 4 slides. Scary to pull out, with haphazard parked vehicles. Neighbors sewer hose near your picnic table. Realize KOA bought this park years ago. But $550 a month is wrong. We camped at Springville / Provo KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

State liquor store and Maverik gas station across street. Also Flying J truckstop and Dennys. Truck wash across street wants $80 for any size motorhome wash.

Stinson RV Park & Storage, Zapata, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Owners let us park in monthly rentals side because we were between workamper gigs and unsure of future plans. Many winter Texans leave their rigs here for the great yearly rate. Weekly country jams in their clubhouse. Off leash dog park is nice. Owner couple was some of the friendliest and caring folks one could ever meet.

Heard it may be for sale in the future. We camped at Stinson RV Park & Storage in a Travel Trailer.

Falcon State Park, Falcon Heights, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived New Years 2016 and told by office ranger that all sewer hookups in park were closed due to system upgrades. If you desire water /elect. Only, this park is ok. The Falcon dam border crossing is a nearby drive. Dam built in early 1950's , as a joint effort between USA and Mexico. 10lb. Bass in lake I heard. We camped at Falcon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Just be aware that all pull thru sites have 4 wooden posts to protect pedestal. Narrow between posts and picnic table roof. Most asphalt sites tended to lean towards road, so bring your levelers. Many birds in park, just watch pets for roaming javalinas.
