Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines), Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two days. easy access from I10. Very friendly and helpfull at check in. The sites were long and narrow, We had to pull our awning in part way so my neighbor could open his slide. In the morning I had to move my truck so he could get out. Roads were narrow which made maneuvering a 41 ft 5th wheel challenging but OK. The owners are new and working to upgrade the CG with a new pool and other things we saw. They provide free coffee and donuts as well as a breakfast every Saturday. Would not return because of the narrow roads and sites. Shorter units would not have a problem. We camped at Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines) in a Fifth Wheel.

Moab KOA, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

There are a lot of good reviews and the staff were very friendly and the campground is close to Arches and Moab, however, the site we were assigned was NOT Big Rig friendly. The roads are very narrow as are the sites. It was a challenge getting a 41ft 5th wheel into the site with rocks and landscaping on each side. We got setup and there was no room to walk around the coach with the slides out due to rocks and landscaping. We had to park behind the coach and walk through the neighbor's site to get between the truck and our door. Then I noticed that we were second from end of a dead-end row which meant when we depart we would have to back down the row in order to get hitched up. I spoke with the manager and they were friendly and aware of the problem and were planning on using the end site as a drive through. The night before we left that site was filled. As we departed after backing down the row, getting out of the site and to the exit was as difficult as getting in. This is the worst site we have ever had in over 40 years of camping. We camped at Moab KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

IF going to Arches go early a long line starts around 8am. The park is open 24 hours and if you have a senior pass no need to worry about checking in. There is a self pay box for those without the pass.
