Cary State Forest, Bryceville, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Extremely new small campground. Gravel roads, but a large paved pad for both parking you unit on and a patio. The sites are very large with a picnic table and grill on your pad. 40 feet away is your fire ring with benches and a stand for a lantern. The closest neighboring site is 30-50 yards away from you. This gives you the impression that you are the only ne there. My wife and I loved it. Since it's a state forest, there is no light pollution at night. Look up and see thousands of stars. Jacksonville is only 10 miles away. We camped at Cary State Forest in a Travel Trailer.

Deerwood Inn Madison Campground, Madison, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at Deerwood campground on our way south, for two nights. The campground looked old and deserted when we pull in. I had to ring a doorbell at the office and wait for someone to answer the door. Finally the manager came down from her apartment and check me in. We were the only one there the first night . They parked us way back new the property line. We did have W/E/S hookups but the picnic tale was broken/rotted, so we couldn't use it. There was a small roofed pavilion, but 1/2 of the roof was gone. There are no paved roads or pads here. It rained during the first night, so everything was muddy around our site in the am. I would not stay here again. There were some old permanent units on the property, but they looked abandoned. No dumpster to dump trash that we could find. We camped at Deerwood Inn Madison Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Ja-Mar RV Resort, South, Port Richey, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for three weeks this winter. Very nice, clean resort. The transients are mixed in with permanent units. This makes meeting your neighbors very easy. Most permanents are owned by snowbirds there for 5-6 months at a time. We found that they were a great source for local information. The pool was nice, but only opened until about 4-5 pm. Since we explored during the day, we normally were back too late to enjoy the pool. Overall a very nice park. We camped at Ja-Mar RV Resort, South in a Travel Trailer.
