Lake Norman Motor Coach Resort, Sherrills Ford, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $84.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 4th stay at Lake Norman Motorcoach Resort. We like it because it is clean, well-maintained and staff is friendly. We know we can expect level, concrete pads (which, this time, were even more important, as it rained a lot!). Hookups are convenient. Most sites are tiered on a hillside, and somewhat close together. (You will need to disconnect if towing) We stay here when visiting family who live in the area. We were surprised, this trip, at the number of loud pickup trucks entering and exiting at all hours, sometimes at a faster rate of speed than is safe. The entry gate (has a pass code) was left open during the day, which may encourage faster travel, but it is good there don't seem to be small children staying here. New managers this time - seem very nice. We camped at Lake Norman Motor Coach Resort in a Motorhome.

Atlantic Oaks Campground, Eastham, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

We loved our stay at Atlantic Oaks! There do not seem to be many sites that will accommodate a rig our size (43') but we had no problem driving the gravel roads. Our site was long enough and level. There is a large dip in front of the site (K2) so pulling out we may scrape bottom - will have to hook up the toad by blocking the road, which we hate to do. (I did see another reviewer mention this very problem on this site. They are correct!) Very friendly and helpful staff! Store is nice, and well-stocked. There is a mix of Motorhomes, Travel Trailers and tents here. Many area restaurants are either closed, or on limited days, which surprised us. We thought they'd be open till Columbus Day, but getting help may be an issue here. This campground backs up to the Cape Cod Rail Trail, which was a major factor in our choosing it. Sites are tiered, but they left vegetation between sites, so it feels private, though your neighbors are fairly close. We wanted proximity to the bike trail and to be at this end of the cape. Next time we might choose a different park, just to explore the other parts of Cape Cod, but if in this area, we'd definitely stay at Atlantic Oaks again! (One more thing - for $73/night, off-season, we were surprised at the $4 surcharge for our dog. Must be not everyone picks up after their dogs (ruining it for the rest of us) - otherwise, I can't think of any reason for an extra per-day charge. We camped at Atlantic Oaks Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are interested in eating out often, you may want to consider coming before Labor Day. We did not mind driving a bit to find restaurants that were open, but it seemed that many in Eastham had closed, or were only open a few nights a week.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Will definitely be back to Coastal GA RV Resort! This was our first time stopping here, and we were very pleased. Very clean, very modern park. We stayed 2 nights so we could get a quick visit to Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island. We will return and spend more time in the area. The park was surprising in that it did not have any security gate...which we've found typical in nice parks like this, but we still felt safe. Can hear some road noise from I-95, but that is part of the convenient On/Off the highway. Could not be easier to find the park. Wi-fi is weak. They pick up garbage at your site daily. Our site was a little narrower than we like, but enough other positives outweighed that in our minds. (Some other sites appeared wider) Hookups are modern and well-placed. Coastal GA is a happy discovery for us! We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cross Winds Family Campground, Linwood, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The nicest lady in the world checked us in. I believe she was the owner. We were visiting family in the area. Since it was a distance to their house from the campground, we probably won't stay again, but only for that reason. Grandkids loved the playground. Our pull-thru site was very convenient, and easy to pull into and out of. We bought firewood (a nice-sized bundle for $5) and enjoyed the fire ring. The park is close to I-85, meaning we did hear road noise, but the convenience was also nice. Except for the distance from our relatives' home, we would definitely return. It was clean and very well-maintained. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Belden Hill Campground, Harpursville, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking for a quiet place to spend Friday night of Memorial Day weekend and this is the place! Beautiful grassy meadows and beautiful views, out in front of a very nice family campground. We had a little difficulty getting here due to construction, but called ahead for directions. We only spent one night, and had full hookups and a pull-through site, which was just what we were looking for! The people are very pleasant, and we would happily stay here again. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

Wandering Oaks RV Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking for a clean, quiet campground near Ocala, for one night while traveling north, with FHU and a pull-thru site that wouldn't take us too far out of our way. Wandering Oaks certainly fit the bill! There are mature trees, with some sites there, and a large field area with a few trees. In FL, trees are wonderful for the shade, but can make maneuvering a big rig a challenge sometimes. This park is very well-maintained, clean and best of all, only 2.5 miles from I-75, and a few hundred yards from route 301, our route north. The park was mostly empty (time of year) so we had no one on either side of us. Friendly person checked us in. We'll definitely be back. We camped at Wandering Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.
