Pine Ridge Campground, Roebuck, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is several miles from the major highway and is quiet. It is a nice campground but a bit dated. Restrooms were spotless and beautiful. Pull through were a bit tight for the 39' 5th wheel. When we arrived the owner (wife) told us that they lived on site and could be contacted if there were any problems. My wife purchased 2 T-shirts. The following morning she discovered that the T-shirts did not fit. The office was closed so we called the campsite number (7:45 AM). No one responded and we found out that the office did not open until 10:00. We walked to the owner's home and a camp worker told us just go to the house. Owner opened the door and asked why we were on his property. Gave him the shirts and told him just to refund the money to our account. A little while later as were leaving, he drove up and was irate that we had come to his home and gave me the $20. In all the places we have visited, I have never been treated so rudely. We camped at Pine Ridge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

High Desert RV Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for several days visiting family. Sites were long and flat. Electric, water and sewer were standard. Park is near I-40 but noise was minimal. Road into Albuquerque is old Route 66. We camped at High Desert RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pikes Peak RV Park, Manitou Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We have a 36' 5th wheel but this manager parked us as if we were driving a 20' car and helped us set up. He also guided us out. Always with a smile. Entire park is spotless. Site is gravel that was almost level. Water, electric and sewer are good. Guests can get a free shuttle to town just outside the park entrance. All of the personnel were very helpful. Our site had instant Directv satellite access. Only drawback was a lack of WiFi, hence the 9. We camped at Pikes Peak RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Plenty of fun shopping in Manitou Springs. Drive or train to the Pikes Peak summit. Deer was grazing on the hill about 40' behind our site for about 30 minutes while people came close and took pictures. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Three Flags RV Park, Black Hawk, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Great park. Near I-90 but noise is very minimal especially at night. Chose the location because it is central to all the sights we wished to see. Manager was great to work with. Even checked on our 3 cats at our request. Most sites are very level. Does have propane. Got local stations with the normal antenna. Stayed 2 weeks. We camped at Three Flags RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Badlands NP, Mt. Rushmore, SD Air & Space Museum, downtown Rapid City, Sturgis, Hill City.

Beautiful scenery towards Mt. Rushmore. Scenery in Badlands NP is awesome.

Good shopping in Rapid City. Used Planet Fitness every few days.

NOTE: Very disappointed at Crazy Horse. Has not changed since our last visit in 1990. Has become very commercialized and expensive.

Eagles Landing RV Park, Holt, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice privately owned park. 60 open (great for satellite reception) gravel sites measuring 100' x 35'. Utilities well placed. No cable. Lots of grassy areas. Owners live on site. Wi-fi available for a charge. Picnic tables at each site. Right off I-10 and 1/2 mile from 90. About 10 miles from Crestview. Diesel fuel in Crestview was lower than regular. Paid 1.79 March 3, 2016. Very clean toilets, showers and laundry. Would definitely stay here again. Visited the Air Force armament museum near Shalimar. We camped at Eagles Landing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tampa South RV Resort, Ruskin, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

The daily rate reflects a monthly rate with a Good Sam discount. Winter months are slightly higher. This was our fourth extended stay at Tampa South. The manager is the absolute best. RV sites are level with crushed shell bases and kept weed free. The access roads are paved asphalt and very well maintained. A few sites are close for larger rigs. Utility hookups and WiFi are good but our sites required a 50' electric cord. Full recycling services are available on site. For the most part, the people who stay here are a great bunch of folks. There are definite cliques among the regulars, however, so it is possible to feel left out if you are a newcomer. The main detractions to the park are the no-see-ums that will eat you alive in the evenings if there is no breeze and the high mineral content water (kind of standard for many of the parks in the area). We buy drinking water (especially for the animals) and ice. Resort is on Hwy 41 and there is some road noise and also train noise several times day and night (but after a few days you don't hear it. Golf courses nearby. Boating right on the river. Close to Sun City and shopping. Cats are permitted but dogs are restricted for new residents but grandfathered for prior guests. We camped at Tampa South RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel. We camped at Tampa South RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
