Contra Costa County Fairgrounds, Antioch, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Good in a pinch. On-site camp host available. Safe enough place to leave to go into San Francisco for the day but not someplace to stay for the heck of it. Curious how a county owned facility doesn't have to comply with health and sanitation issues in not having bath facilities available? Wi-fi seems to be worse than previous visits, connections dropped and was unable to access basic e-mail functions. No outside setup, no BBQ grills, chairs, etc. We camped at Contra Costa County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Eddo's Harbor & RV Park, Rio Vista, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself sits on a quiet delta but be cautious of the road it is really neglected and there is a very large rise between the lower and levy road. Enter from the north end of the levy road not the one closest to the Antioch bridge. Mostly grassy sites with open views of the surrounding delta. A few days before we expected to arrive I called to make a reservation, offered up my credit card to secure it and the reservation agent said she didn't want our credit card information, only asking for out name and phone number. The length of our RV and how many in our party. Arrived at the park late-afternoon and no one was present so we proceeded into park. I walked up to front to search for a host to be met by a gentleman telling us they are booked solid through the 1st. I tell him we have a reservation to which he replies "we'll see about that". Save yourself a trip to this RV park if you have a conversion; management does not accept bus conversions or similar 'vintage' but well-maintained camping units. We camped at Eddo's Harbor & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are no services in the delta area, closest is 23 mile drive and if you go to Antioch it will require a bridge toll ($5) to return. DO NOT enter from south loop, big dip in road could damage a larger RV unit, plus it was scary as heck, everything shifted inside the RV.

Fender's River Road Resort, Needles, California

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park on historic route 66 is far enough away from the freeway to be peaceful. The hosts were very accommodating, hospitable and went out of their way to make our (two) separate stays enjoyable. Best Wi-Fi is close to the office but it worked like a charm with a booster. Riverfront sites offer beautiful views of the Colorado River which are literally at your doorstep. We camped at Fender's River Road Resort in a Motorhome.

Ask for tips on route 66 and where to eat, management is very helpful. Local Casino in Laughlin, NV will pick you up at RV park and take you to casino free.

Arena RV Park, Chowchilla, California

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this quaint little park. Only drawback is so so wi-fi and trains that run at all hours. Would return to this park when in area. We camped at Arena RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Yargo State Park, Winder, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This quiet park outside Atlanta offers a peaceful lakeside camping experience. Free Wi-Fi available at ranger station at park entry; nothing at campground but we were able to use our hotspot at our campsite. Lot's of wildlife, birds, squirrels, deer and even a few feral cats who call the park home. Services require driving out of park a few miles into Winder. We camped at Fort Yargo State Park in a Motorhome.
