Daytona / Speedway KOA, Daytona Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here for 2-3 nights the last couple of years to rest and regroup after spending two weeks in the campground on Speedway property. It's a very clean park, the staff is friendly, and some of the campsites are really nice, outfitted with fire pits and patio furniture. We have a 44' toy hauler, and of course we are always lucky enough to get one of those sites. There is a lot of dog walking space, and the campground is very well kept. The roads are very curvy and this time we were way back in the back, but we still managed to get our rig in place without too much stress. There really aren't any amenities here to speak of, no doubt because of it's proximity to the speedway and the flea market across the street. It is not a place you'd want to spend a month or more in my opinion, but a few days to explore Daytona or during a busy race season, it's a good choice. It is the closest campground to the Speedway. We camped at Daytona / Speedway KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Cherry Blossom RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly Pecan Point RV Park), Dothan, Alabama

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed at this campground several times over the past 15 years, starting when it was the Pecan Point. Their overnight spaces are easy to get to, even with the 44 ft. Toy Hauler which we have. It's very clean and well-kept, and we like the proximity to Dothan, which seems like a nice town with a variety of restaurants and shopping. Hookups are easy to get to and there are good places to walk dogs. It's consistent every time we stop, and we'll definitely stay here again. We camped at Cherry Blossom RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly Pecan Point RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're approaching from the south, the driveway requires you complete a U-turn. Look for alternate routes on your GPS which will take you off the main road and north of the campground then route you back so that you can make a right turn and avoid having to make that U-ey. The roads are paved highways and not stressful if you're in a big rig.
