Walnut Grove Campground, Alfred, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Family-owned and operated. Lovely people. Very very affordable for Maine in summer!!!! Clean, huge wooded sites. Since I'm a nurse and working, plus doing the monthly rate, they did their best to put me in the more wooded area, which make it cozy and more private - plus quiet. There's a pool, huge playground, a rec room, planned activities. Very family oriented. Most sites are back-in but now I can do it solo!

Highly recommended. The only reason I didn't give topmost marks was the occasional smelly portapotty, which I'm sure the few tent campers are grateful for. We camped at Walnut Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Woody Mountain Campground & RV Park, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. This was my maiden voyage in my RV, so I needed a little extra help hooking up, knowing how to deal with a few issues. Staff got me fixed right up, including finding a local repair person. All sites are pull-through, and they put me toward the back so almost no road noise. The only thing that has been unpleasant is the dust. They keep the sites and roads very tidy, raking the pine needles away. BUT - that means the dust blows around and is kicked up by vehicles.

Bathrooms are in good shape, kept clean. Haven't used the laundry facilities yet because they're getting all new machines. We camped at Woody Mountain Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Minutes from town -- shopping, laundromat, gas stations. Not far from Grand Canyon, Sedona. University town, too, so activities there as well.
