Potters Creek Park COE, Canyon Lake, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Have been to Potters Creek many times and the part is always in good order. Problem is that floods in the past 2 years have wiped Potters Creek out and they are talking about it being another year before they are back in full operation. At the time they have 26 sites open to walk ins only. Cranes Mill is a good alternative for good or until the park is reopened full speed. Everything was good in this park before the floods and I imagine will be just as good or better in the future. We camped at Potters Creek Park COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Many, many good small towns to venture off to with much to do in every one. If you want to go tubing it is the tubing Capital of Texas. Even Willie Nelson and many other country stars perform just a few miles from the park on a regular basis. Many eating places on hwy 306 that leads to the park as well as on Potters Creek Road. This area is listed as one of the fastest growing areas of Texas. I would love to live in this area myself.

Cranes Mill Park COE, Canyon Lake, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

All pretty new as it had to be rebuilt from floods. Many good level spots but I think next time I will try to get spot 15. Park hosts are very good and knowledgeable about surroundings. Again infrastructure is very good. There is goos spacing between sites that and asphalt. There is some shade and a fire ring, patio and picnic table at the sites. We camped at Cranes Mill Park COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is everything you want to do within 35 miles of the park. Every neat little city that you can think of and it is in the middle of the fastest growing area of Texas. Gennaro's Trattoria is the finest eating place you will find anywhere. Everything about Gennaro's is top flite. Another good spot is The Reel just a few miles away on hwy 46.

DeGray Lake Resort State Park, Bismarck, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Just a great park to enjoy yourself. Nice drive into the park past the golf course and a nice marina handy as well as the Resort. We try to get spot 80 on our trips to De Gray as it handles the satellite very well. Again can't ask for a more convenient park to many places.

There is some shade and the sites are asphalt with good space between. We camped at DeGray Lake Resort State Park in a Motorhome.

Go to Hot Springs and mosey around all day and hook up at many good eating places. Tour Lake Hamilton and drive over to Lake Catherine to scope out.

Dam Site Lake Campground COE, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

The park was refurbished a few years back with spaces added. The electrical is 50 amp and the pads are very good with most being on a pretty level ground. The park has nice picnic tables, fire rings and of course water and an offsite dump. We camped at Dam Site Lake Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A heck of a place to sight see and to fish for trout. Beautiful haze over the river when they open the gates.
