The Glades RV Resort, Moore Haven, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Access from road is rough, construction caused huge issues with grade and turning. Not their fault. Access road to campground has no signage once you leave the highway. Branches scraped the top of our coach in three places. Not their fault, as a county road, we were told. Packet of papers provided on checkin referred to restaurant with dinner menu included. No dinner is served at this restaurant. Details were also provided on sorting trash for recycling, and map with dumpsters was noted. No dumpsters exist. Office staff said they were all removed due to "illegal dumping". There is some schedule for picking up trash at your site. Small dog park was nice with benches and a shade tree. No grass, but nice enough. Driving range was reasonably priced, and golf pro was congenial. All sites are level, back in with easy hookups. No picnic table, nothing. Grassy with small concrete pad set too far back to use. Park is 95% snowbirds that have zero interest in the annoying transients. We camped at The Glades RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Clean, safe, incredibly well-located. The ONLY campground (along with Trumbo) ON Key West..... the rest are on keys further north up the road. October Bend RV Park, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Over two miles on a washboard bumpy dirt road. We had to creep to keep from shaking the coach apart. Low trees enroute. Grass is overgrown. No direction to where to find registration etc. Small red building with passport america sticker on right as you enter is NOT registration area. It is on bath house at end of park. Mainly long term, poorly kept rigs there. Quite unkempt and not inviting. Many blue tarps. Too close to interstate to sleep. Access road is wicked. Creepy feeling so we left. We camped at October Bend RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Falls Casino, Larchwood, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

14 pull through gravel surface facing the driving range. Lower numbered sites less likely to encounter wayward golf balls. Parking in the casino parking lot boondocking is free. FHU sites are $20 weekdays, $40 weekends. All casino amenities are available to campers, just ask for pool pass at front desk. Casino is only moderately smokey, buffet was a fair value. Shopping is in nearby Sioux Falls, SD and is an easy drive. VERY quiet at night, plenty of dog-walking space. Best kept secret? Their lovely spa has day passes available for $15..... take your facial mask, hair treatment, lounge in the pool and spa tubs, take advantage of the sauna and steam room, then a long, hot shower. Lunch can be served by the pool. We camped at Grand Falls Casino in a Motorhome.

Texas T Campground, Cornersville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park, spacious sites, each set of hookups have a light above it, and a bush to camouflage from your neighbors. Gravel interior roads were easy to navigate. Checkin was an easy process as long as you had a reservation ahead of time. Good satellite reception, good water pressure and reliable electricity. Didn't use, but I understand they have a washer and dryer available to use. There was a public room set up for crafting.... tables, ironing board, books, TV, very comfortable. We camped at Texas T Campground in a Motorhome.

Singing Hills RV Park & Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely, quiet little park nestled in Cave country. Not far from groceries and attractions. The real gems are the owners..... kind, compassionate people with a sense of humor. And, they accept PA for two nights, and a discount after that. We experienced torrential rains while we were there, but there is adequate drainage so no real ponding or pooling. Trees were well kept, plenty of gravel to keep roads clear. We camped at Singing Hills RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Cam-Plex Multi Event Facilities (For Events Use Only), Gillette, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for an FMCA rally. Box Elder Lot, FHU. Packed in like sardines. Couldn't even put out window awnings, much less patio awning! Rain brought mud from hell, but it quickly dried up when the winds from hell kicked back up after the rains. Seriously, this is a huge field with no shade (great satellite reception) and zero protection from the storms that roll through regularly. I know the facility can't control the weather, but accessing a safe area requires you to get in a vehicle and drive to a safe building. Not well thought out. No sidewalks to the main meeting places, just take your chances on the roads. Electricity and water supplies were excellent, though! Not a destination, to be sure. We camped at Cam-Plex Multi Event Facilities (For Events Use Only) in a Motorhome.

Albert Lea / Austin KOA, Hayward, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

From driving in on dirt roads full of very uneven surface and ruts and washes to approaching the office (opposite the building entrance), to indifferent young people at the registration, things just went downhill. Accessing this from the nearest road was about a 4" drop from the pavement to the dirt road. You drive through a dirt tunnel of trees, and large coaches must stay in the middle so as not to scrape. We were met with two carloads of bathing-suited people leaving the park. Scraped. We registered and were told where our site was, none of the four employees offered to show us. We found it OK but the interior roads are rutted, full of unevenness and a surface I can only describe as riprap, a large cheap rock used to divert water flow and prevent erosion. NOT for roads and walkways and parking areas. Walking on it is VERY difficult, twisted ankles will happen! Our bus would not level on this, the pads were sinking into the soft surface under these fist-sized rocks, so we just spent the night on the air levelers. Smoke from campfires kept us inside, so didn't explore the grounds. Water pressure was at approximately 40psi when we arrived, not excellent, but OK. The morning we experienced 4 psi, not enough to shower, laundry or fill sink for dishes. Husband went to the office and complained, but there were others there complaining they couldn't shower, etc either. Office staff said there was nothing they could do. So, when we went to leave, I noticed ruts in the neighboring site, as well as up and down the interior roads. Our bus had plowed the rocks ahead of us, and we were grateful for the power of our engine to get us out. The fist-sized rocks are simply being moved aside as people drive through them, leaving the wet ground exposed. Bad choice. Not a place we will return to. We camped at Albert Lea / Austin KOA in a Motorhome.

Well maintained, spotlessly clean! Yes mainly for lease holders but we were made to feel very welcome. We stayed in lot 1 on the rally field. Grass, full hookups with 50-amp service. Tons of activities, camp hosts are friendly, pets are picked up after. Adults, but visiting Grand children are welcome. Highly recommend this gem! Hoosier Park Racing and Casino, Anderson, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a casino parking lot. Well lit, safe, very level with excellent drainage. Asphalt surface, easy in and out, space for many many campers. They welcome you to stay, hope you'll come in and spend some money. Check with security when you see one, let them know you're there. Slides out is just fine, generator is too. You will be directed to park in the "middle lot", between where the cars park and where the truckers park. Lighting is excellent, many security cameras, shuttle buses.... free. Cornerstone Campground , New Castle, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find, wide entrance, tree-lined with white fence! The first building you come to is NOT the office, it is past the small gatehouse, ahead and to the right. Mature trees providing nice shade. Interior roadways are a mix of asphalt and gravel. Our site was loose gravel, not well-packed, and our coach sunk in quite a bit. Dump station on exit. Very clean and well-kept with trash can and non-potable water to clean up. Mainly a Christian retreat, there were many many long-term travel trailers parked there, and many families with children. Lovely playground area for them, and a pool as well. Office staff were very friendly and helpful and there's a small campstore onsite. Wifi was not useable to us, signal was too weak. Trash is collected from the front of your site. Some sites are on the side next to the interstate, but the road noise was not too bad at all. We camped at Cornerstone Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here to dump and check out the park. Very very clean, easy to find using the written directions on FMCA page, level sites, lovely landscaping. Excellent overnight stop, or a long weekend. No facilities for children, but if you need a stop in Cincinnati, this is the best of the choices. 4 miles east on US 32, there is a huge shopping complex, Try either Skyline or Gold Star Chili. There is also Holman Buick/RV in that area, excellent RV service area, and Colerain RV is across town as well. Don't miss Jungle Jim's Grocery store in the Eastgate shopping area... it's one of a kind! We camped at FMCA Campground (FMCA members only) in a Motorhome.

Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very mature park... fully grown trees and wide roads. The gravel surface is the black gravel that doesn't leave dust all over. Office staff is somewhat difficult to understand and not overly helpful. Location is quite good for visiting all RV manufacturers and museums. Price is far too high for the number of amenities available though. Picnic tables are old, covered with mold and moss and some are rickety. Just not worth the price they're asking. Most all sites are level but many are grass. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.
