August, 2018 -
I have stayed at Woodbury's in August 2018 and in July 2017 for a week each. Many people here are seasonal and some are year-round (all I've met are friendly). The sites can be tight for long RVs, but the staff is helpful and polite. I don't think there are pull-thru sites, so if that's a deal breaker, beware. The restrooms (complete with showers and flush toilets) show their age, but are clean. The pool is heated. Canoes or power boats are available for rent. This campground has a nice rustic feel, so if you are looking for a 5 star RV Park, this may not be for you. I have a small teardrop trailer (13 feet length) and pull it with a Toyota FJ Cruiser, so I never have an issue with backing in. You will meet a bunch of really great Canadians, and it is not like a 5 star resort parks in Canada where only the US vacationers can afford to go. The residents serve a pancake breakfast on Sunday mornings (8-10) for $6 per person and it is an opportunity to 'meet and greet'. The restaurant on the property (JB's) has great food at reasonable prices. I'm not sure why previous reviews rated this campground so low, it deserves a solid 7-8 rating. Next time in BC, I plan to stay here again. We camped at Woodbury Resort and Marina in a Travel Trailer.
Woodbury's is on Kootennay Lake and only 3 miles from Ainsworth Hot Springs and about 12-15 miles from Kaslo.
