Elks Lodge #322 (Members Only), San Luis Obispo, California

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is an Elks members only CG. Basically a large parking lot with back in E/W hook-ups. Surface is hard dirt/gravel. Good spacing between sites. Plenty of room for our 40' MH, including slideouts and awnings. No picnic table, no fires. Dump site available. Access to the beautiful swimming pool that is on the lodge property. Bar open daily, lunch served M-F, dinner on Mondays. An adjacent RV storage lot is also available, and is open to the public. We camped at Elks Lodge #322 (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

Cooperstown Shadow Brook Campground, Cooperstown, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Large, spreadout campground, providing lots of space between sites. Sites are gravel with grass between. We could not quite get our MH level (rear end high) but it was satisfactory. Solid 30 amp service, nice picnic table, fire ring. We arrived on a Sunday after the office was closed, and due to a miscommunication, there was no info on the board for us, but a phone call to the owners' cell brought prompt help. Not only did he direct us to our site, but on the way stopped at an available sewer and dumped our tanks for us! On the way out the regular dump station is easily accessible.

Our only complaint was we were never able to connect to the camp wifi which is supposed to be free for 1 hour every 8 hours. And the campground was far from full. We camped at Cooperstown Shadow Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Parking in Cooperstown is very limited. Plan to park (free) in the red trolley lot and take the free trolley into town. Had a delicious - and filling - lunch at the Doubleday Cafe.
